It's easy to do. It mounts different depending on what bike you have. Easy enough to wire in. They show a relay in the picture but it wasn't clear if that relay and associated wiring/harness is included in the purchase.

You HAVE to use the relay to hook it up, and connect it directly to the battery, otherwise it'll just keep blowing your stock horn fuse (and/or melt your wiring if you do what some people do and put a larger fuse in your stock fusebox).

Any reputable shop could install it for ya pretty cheap as well. Where abouts are you located?

I got one. It uses 20 amp quotes and fuse and it kicks ass. Mounting depends on bike. I bet if you Google your bike and stiebel you will find some install photos.

thanks for the tip. i live in north york. plan on getting new bike soon and first mod to do is an air horn lol. do you know someone who can install it for me for a low fee?

I put a Stebel in my S1000RR. It's hilarious to blast it and watch other drivers jerk on the wheel and try to locate the source of the sound.

I split mine and mounted the horn in the nose, with the compressor under the rear seat.

Nice! I have whatever the cheaper version is from Canadian Tire. I didn't split it, but found a place for it to go on the right side inside the fairing - so you can't see it there either (CBR600F4). As has been mentioned, do the electrical work properly. I don't remember the gauge wire - it might even be 12 - but you need the relay as well. The instructions that came with it were pretty good, and you can always find them on www.iwantanairhornhowdoiwireitonmybike.com.

Pretty sure Stebel has a "plug and play" kit (for extra $) that has everything you need for install. I just made a parts list out of the instructions and sourced all the litttle bits I needed. Hardest part was finding a good place to mount it, but still was done in less than an hour.

Ever since Stebel went from "Made in Italy" to "Designed in Italy", ebay's awash with Chinese horns of a "very similar" design, in the $20-30 shipped ballpark. Just search ebay for "compact air horn". Usually they send out a harness kit but mine wasn't wired right so I had to rewire it.. The relay was crap too.. You'd be better off buying the following on your own:

1) A relay
2) A fuseholder (you'd need this anyway)
3) A 20A fuse (I'm running 30A) (you'd need this anyway)
4) Wire (you'd need this anyway)
5) Spade connectors male and female (you'd need this anyway)
6) Heatshring tubing (you'd need this anyway)

Not difficult to fix. I have one installed in the cage, worked great but the relay that came with it crapped out on me in a bit over a year.

have one installed on my 2005 sv650s behind left side fairing. Not hard to install and if you set it off near sidewalks watch people jump thinking a semi truck is mounting the sidewalk.

Best mod for any bike

Same here; separated the horn parts when I installed a Nautilus on my BMW K75. I mounted the annunciator just by the left battery cover and mounted the pump in a space beside the air filter. I joined the two pieces with a short length windshield wiper hose. Made sure to use heavy gauge wire to a 30A automotive relay on a dedicated 20A circuit (I have an auxiliary fuse box for electrical accessories) when wiring it up.

I could BARELY squeeze the entire thing into my Fizzer and still be able to turn the bars lock to lock, but it really depends on the clearance room that your particular bike gives you.

I've had it on a couple of Stebel's on my bikes, on my current one too. Ordered from TwistedThrottle, there was a sale and it came with a plug and play wiring kit. (wires, relay, connectors, etc). Best $85 you'll spend if it wakes up one cager trying to merge into you. Mine were sports bikes and there was room inside the right fairing to attach the unit, just had to make a bit of a custom bracket.

I have dual horns, get the job done
