Any Shoei/Arai helmets on sale?

Grabbed an HJC RPHA 10 in matte black this weekend. $348 out the door. shoei rf1100 was $399 out the door. Both were at a great price, I just went with HJC as it fit better (and looked better on my noggin!) than the shoei. (Originally I was going for shoei)

agreed. I tried these on last week and it amazing how it felt. Don't let the HJC name fool you, this helmet is legit. I'm thinking of picking up a matte black in the RPHA 10's...and i'm a damn helmet snob.

Same.
I just bought both a Lorenzo replica HJC RPHA 10 and an AGV Pista GP.
I used the RPHA 10 on the track last month and was pleasantly surprised.

You actually believe that a $120 helmet is the exact same thing as a $500 Arai or Shoei ? Just because helmets meet the same MINIMUM standards, doesn't mean that they offer the same TOTAL protection.

Weight, comfort, noise, aerodynamics.....everything adds up.

Besides, it's your head - are you REALLY going to put a price on protecting it ? Then again.......ah nevermind, this is coming from a guy that wants an S1000RR to commute to work, wants good riding roads but thinks the Forks is too far.

You either get it or you don't.

You really believe all those everything you said adds up together make up the difference between $120 and $500?

Where? was this at GPbikes?

Oh sorry for thread jacking, but while the subjects of helmets is being talked about, anyone here own Suomy vandal helmet?

from $499 on sale for $199 at GP. Is this helmet any good?

GP's no hst sale is really good. all the Shoei RF1100 in solid colors are on at 399, no tax. that's a steal imo. but some of these guys are right, i've done my share of research and HJC is a great company that's shelling out some good helmets at a good price. mind you, you need to know what kind of shape head you are in order to find a good fitting helmet.

Despite forum talk and keyboard warrior know it alls, if you think there isn't a difference in a $100 helmet vs a $500 or more dollar helmet you're hugely misinformed.

why not just wear a glass bowl on your head while we're discussing $120 helmets.

And personally I believe the price is difference is justified strictly from a comfort standpoint, not even taking safety/venting/noise into account.

Not whether you think is justified, I was referring to the cost of making the helmets.

I never thought and I never said anything like that, don't know where you got that information from, you are hugely misinformed.

Have you used the Pista GP on the street? From what i've read, it's really only good for the track and the Corsa is way better suited for the street. I wonder how much lighter the Pista is compared to the Corsa?

A couple weeks back, Brampton Powersports had their remaining RF-1100 on sale for $350 IIRC.

Actually I haven't used either my RPHA 10 or Pista GP on the street yet.
Weather's been kinda crap and I don't have a smoked visor for either of them and I don't like rocking a clear visor on the street lol

LOL, I am uncomfortable when rocking a clear visor myself. But how does the RPHA 10 compare to the rest of your collection (which is pretty damn nice I must say). That Simpson Racing helmet is badass.

I didn't say you said it. I said if you think it. I am rather well informed and there's a reason I would only buy a high end lid.

Didn't see any and I was there two days ago. :dontknow:

I bought that RPHA 10 spur of the moment because I couldn't get my Pista for that last track day I did and having used it now a few times, I actually really really like it. I find it to be extremely comfortable.

The last time I bought an HJC was back in 2001 and it was pretty crappy. However, this new one is night and day compared to my old HJC.
It's better than the AGV K3 (that K3 dreamtime I have has never been worn. I actually had Rossi sign it a few months back at the MotoGP in Indy. You can kinda see the signature on the Circle in the pic I posted) and to tell you the truth... it's a bit more comfortable than the Pista GP.

Out of the collection of helmets I have, I would actually rate that RPHA10 the most comfortable helmet of the bunch.

I think the next helmet I plan on purchasing is the Shoei X-12 Marquez Replica.
My goal is to get Lorenzo and Marquez to sign those helmets at the MotoGP in Indy next year and then I can retire them on my shelf with the K3 Dreamtime.

^ Loooks like The Stigs helmet :D

I get that a lot... that or a Storm Trooper.

The Simpson is my street beater helmet.
