I was being sarcastic. The 999, at least in person, is spectacular. It has real presence in a sea of 'gixxers' and while the 1098 was nice looking, it didn't do much to separate the brand. It's an almost 15 year old design and it still makes an impression. Best part is its totally unique and quite rare to see out on the roads.

True, but they lost me with the headlight. I liked the 998/748's headlight much better... and then the 1098 goes back to a more futuristic side by side headlight, so again I like it better.

Those online insurance quotes are retarded.
Even when I started riding at 20 years old, I was only paying $100-130 a month for bikes with State Farm.. everything from 600s to 1000s. Coincidentally, 10 years later Im still paying the same amount... so I guess technically its gotten cheaper

At least 1 year motorcycle insurance history and is still active.
If they meet those requirements I can set them up, if they don’t it gets tricky. I only tell you this so I don’t disappointment. If you are unsure just send them to me and I will do whatever I can to help them.
“Elite Rider” discount gets you 30% off
M license for 4 years+
Over the age of 30
CC’s over 599
3 years of immediate prior insurance experience.
No AF MC claims in 5 years
No major convictions in 5 years
No criminal charges in 10 years
No more than 2 minor convictions in 3 years
No Driving Related License Suspensions in 5 years
Cars don’t add discounts to bikes at all. Cars will give cars discounts though so I will do one with cars and one without.
I just talked it him today & he saved me $600.00 so full coverage on my bike is $1300.00 per year...at State Farm I was paying $1900.00 per year, after 3 years of continuous insurance you will get an additional 30% off!

Had a 98 748 for a while. I pulled the cams on it when I did the belts and all 8 of the rockers were flaking. I sent mine to Martin Brickwood Performance (http://www.mbpducati.ca/) in Quebec to have them refinished/coated. Cost was around $50 per rocker to have this done. Sold the bike not long after so I can't give a long term update on how they did. I would not want a 748/916 as my only bike to be honest. For the type of riding I do, which is mainly commuting with the occasional weekend ride, the 748 was less then ideal. Having also spent some time on a 749, it is a much better bike over all.
