Almost got killed on the 401

OP glad to hear you are ok.

This is why I NEVER ride in the middle lanes. Something I learned during my M2 class - depending on which side of the middle lane you are, you increase/decrease your visibility to the car in the left or right lane beside you, not both.

Sometimes it's better to use your brakes instead of your horn.

How about both? I almost got killed on Saturday too, I made a half-*** shoulder check and the mistake of starting to change lanes before the shoulder check and a minivan almost took me down, it was my mistake, I promised myself never to do a half-*** shoulder check ever again.

i actually saw a boat on the 401 westbound express pulled over on the side about 615. it was a big azz boat... like there was room for people below deck and stuff, not just a regular speed type boat. it was 2 3 times the size of the truck. maybe thats why it was on the side of the road perhaps.

how big was the boat OP?

Big boat, red truck iirc.

There was traffic behind me in both lanes, I was well aware of all the potential options and dangers.

I chose to move left as it was clear as opposed to brake with traffic close behind me.

No signal and a double lane change pulling a boat 3X bigger than truck.

Generally this stuff happens to me in the city not on the highway.

Re enforces how useful it is to know your surroundings at all times.

Thanks
