Alan Ritchson motorcycle incident and fight

Looking around at those houses and the neighborhood I`d say Taylor has more money than common sense. Himself being a motorcyclist, how is jumping out in front of a moving vehicle ever a good idea? It probably wouldn`t have been too difficult to get a cop out to a big bucks area to file a complaint.

I'd have probably hit him. On purpose.

I was wondering what would I have done as I see someone doing something at the side of the road and then approach me while in motion? I was a little surprised Alan endo’d but, stuff happens.

As for the confrontation, that is what cell phones are for. Video bad behaviour, make the call and file a complaint. To step out and confront someone? Stupid. To do it and have Reacher appear? I’m sure there was regrets going through his mind.

I’m an easy going guy. If I saw an adult ripping up the neighborhood with a couple of kids on mini bikes following along, I’d probably be tickled pink and wanting to join. Rev it up and keep the speeds reasonable and don’t get too nutty. It appeared to be more like a toot than a hooligan ride of any sort.

I would question Alan's skill level. First he endos at 10 mph (according to the lawyers description) then hits the throttle when he picks it up and almost runs into his kid. Perhaps that was part of Taylors issues

Big guy over reacted. He nor his kids where in any harm after the bike drop. He beat up a guy infront of his kids. His kids are licensed to ride on public roads? Big guy gonna get sued, suprised he isn't arrested.

No,
Alan Ritchson
was not arrested. Tennessee police ruled that the actor acted in self-defense during a physical altercation with his neighbor in March 2026, and the

Brentwood Police Department
confirmed he will not face criminal charges

I disagree, Taylor admits that he pushed Ritchson and then after the first altercation followed Ritchson back into the street. For me, that is physical posturing and defense is required.

Both parties could have handled that far better. This is what dick swinging gets you.

I do agree, not a great example for the kids.

100% agree with above comment on Ritchson's riding skill but then again, seems like a lot of videos I see include motorcycles that were not made with rear brakes.

I always think of Albert, a co-worker of many years ago, in cases like this.

I never got the whole story from the start but a tiff in a bar, a punch from Albert and the guy goes down, hitting his head never to get up again. Albert is convicted of manslaughter with a few years at Maplehurst out of his life.

Either of the combatants in this case COULD have been more seriously injured. You don't have to be subsonic to get a concussion and brain bleed.

Taylor (lawn guy) from what I saw on the recordings, was not protecting anyone at that time. The street seemed empty. He walked right out. He may have been relating to other times where there were other people around and at risk. The Ritchsons weren't at the time buzzing kids playing street hockey or basketball.

Defending what could happen is a far cry from what is happening.

A civil approach:

1) A non confrontational visit to Ritchson asking for consideration. Had that been tried or was this a shot from the hip?

2) Then a request for police intervention. The police can inform both parties of legalities and rights.

3) Possible court orders to comply.

In Canada we have the right of passage which I interpret as the right to go anywhere I want on public property, roads and sidewalks. Obviously with certain restrictions, generally HTA related. Blocking / stopping me violates my rights.

Ritchson hitting Taylor once he was down, In MMA tapping out sends a clear message that the combatant will not continue the fight.

I didn't see or hear Taylor physically or verbally indicate a tap out before the last three punches but he seemed subdued after them and Ritchson walked away.

In the first step Taylor's actions cause Ritchson to crash but there is no contact. Up here does that make it a single vehicle incident with Ritchson at fault?

Could Taylor could be charged with anything more than jay walking at that point?

The whole issue is based on the thickness of Taylor's skin with regards to motorcycle usage / noise vs Ritchson's reasonable rights to use the street.

From the brief video I saw Big Guy punched Lawn Guy 3 times while he was down. Think that will be another main point in the law suit.
Big Guy threw some heavy punches

Alan Ritchson, famous for his role in Reacher, is 6 feet 3 inches (1.91 m) tall and weighed over 240 lbs

The heaviness of the punch is immaterial.

Anybody can be sued for anything, but based on the linked video, lawn guy would be playing with fire filing a lawsuit. Big guy chose not to have criminal charges laid against him but IIRC he has a few years where he could ask the cops to bring those back alive. Lawn guy fighting a civil countersuit and criminal trial concurrently would be burning money fast.

To be fair, how many pedestrians do you know that make eye contact with you and then jump in front? Subtract the school kids from school busses, then it should be a pretty small sub-segment of the population. Yes, you should always be scanning and anticipating issues, but suicidal people are not usually on the bingo card. Normal human behavior is not to willingly, knowingly and visually be seen stepping in front of a moving vehicle.

I saw I police officer step infront of a moving car raise his hand up to stop during a speed trap. I also saw a police officer in a video jump infront of a moving car to make an arrest! It didn't go well for the police office!

I once beat a careless driving charge because the day before the court date the cop jumped in front of a tractor trailer with not near enough space for the poor driver to stop.
His reason for the stop was that the downtown street was designated no trucks.
The charges against the the truck driver were thrown out on his first appearance.
The idiot cop sustained a concussion some broke ribs and a broken wrist.

Sounds like a coyote roadrunner episode. Beep beep splat
