Thank you man, appreciate it, and yes, they will be set aside, tbh I may just end up paying it off for peace of mind, and I think insurance is lower on a bike with no money owning if I remember correctly. I'm not too worried, I don't have kids, a family, or any liabilities other than the car (which hasn't been driven for 3 weeks now anyway), plus with CERB benefits incoming I don't think i'm being too irresponsible, I don't see my industry going back to normal till at-least November as is, so time is at hand

For what it’s worth if I had girlfriend problems, job loss due to Covid and money in the bank I’d be going to pick up that T7 too! Not every decision is a great decision but that’s okay.
Have an awesome summer with the bike (I’ve been watching T7 videos lately, very nice ride I really like what it’s all about) and if things seem crappy right now don’t let it beat you up. It’ll get better. Sorry to hear about the recent events though.

The hope of the bike is the only thing keeping me sane, I put more into the relationship than the bike is even worth and have realized alot in life, one of which is a Yamaha will be a lot more reliable than my ex for sure haha...
Trying to stay positive, I know lots of co-workers who are going through a lot more difficult times, alongside people around the globe

Most sales agreements in the fine print state that it is conditional on insurance and financing (if applicable), so relatively easy to say you cannot find reasonable insurance. Of course the dealer has to abide by this. Easiest way I found is inform the dealer you will reach out to OMVIC to mediate this dispute. At that point most dealers, not wanting a hassle with OMVIC will just give in.
There is no clause for insurance affordability unless specifically negotiated when the transaction occurs. And even then, it has to be a reasonable amount for the car being purchased. If you try that line with omvic and it isn't on the purchase agreement, it won't fly.
The only clause about insurance is that the consumer must maintain a specific level of coverage for the lienholder. If you didn't realize insurance would be too much that's not a reason to cancel the deal. A smart consumer already has that info when he walks into the dealership.
You really think threatening a dealership with omvic will make them fold and give in? Omvic is there to protect BOTH dealers and consumers, and dealers won't have an issue if they have conducted themselves accordingly.
Next time you have a purchase agreement in front of you I would suggest reading it front to back. There's a lot of information there.

Good dealers will already have these conditions in their contracts without the buyer asking for them to be added. Read the back of the contract.

I once had the wife of a client call me, screaming that her husband bought a car without her consent. She demanded to know the details of the purchase, and that I was to take the car back and refund his deposit or she would sue me and divorce him. I politely told her because she wasn't part of the transaction I couldn't speak with her about it and to take it up with him. My wife was buying a new car and the salesman wanted me to co-sign her purchase offer
:/ she was buying it in cash and I was sitting right there! Needless to say he lost that sale.
Another time she went to a Japanese car dealership to look at a new car for her and the salesman only wanted to talk to me! He would have no part of dealing with a woman

Out of my bikes, bought 3 brand new:
2007 Gixxer 1k -$500 discount from the sticker price, bought in April. Got them to throw in few scraps like a Icon jacket for free.
2011 R1 - ~$1000 discount, and got an Akra carbon full exhaust at cost and no labour.
2014 - BMW hp4: no discount and no goodies except they did the fender eliminator...It came with 3 years full warranty and oil changes.
So, from my anecdotal experience and couple with my friends'; you can expect to get 500-1k on the liter bikes plus bunch of goodies thrown in assuming they're not in high demand.

Which dealership did you deal with ?? I'm sure if i go in, they will work something out. That's what i was hoping, to get a slip on thrown in or some other goodies, its cost price for them so wouldn't be too hard i assume. Thanks !!
for which bike man? For yami it was snow city and it was nine years ago (fn hell, that was a while back). Yea, like everything else in life, it's timing, unless people all the sudden start to YOLO after the lockdown, I'm sure the market for liter bikes will be on the low side and dealers will do anything they can to move quantity.
