Accident #3 - U-turner from the right lane

It's never too late to visit the hospital, and get an x-ray done; visit your family doctor for an ultrasound. Don't sit on it, make sure that you're okay. You have OHIP and generous accident benefit coverage to help you recover.

Any injury should have been reported to police, you could've called an ambulance to help check you out at the scene.

You don't know about the long-term effects the accident did to your knee. Much better to play it safe, then get coverage/help denied down the road.

Make the other driver's insurance pay for the damage to your fairing. The other driver should also have been charged with Careless Driving.

Are you surrounded by man hating women all day? This doesn't sound like something Batman would say.

Get better soon OP and get checked out by a doctor and file a police report, then get the insurance involved. Maybe try driving your car for a week or two and give the bike a break before you get broken?

Exactly. Your knee was OK in an hour but what about in a week and then it's too late. If you think M/C plastics are expensive, price a new knee. Cops and insurance for this one.

Report him and throw everything at him!

Somewhat related when it comes to being injured. I worked for a company in my early 20's, I fell on black ice in their parking lot and cut my hand open. The VP encouraged me not to bother reporting it "Its just a cut.". A month later my back started to hurt, took a year to find out the cause and because I didn't report it, it costs me thousands a year in chiropractor and pain meds over 20 years later.

Sometimes injuries don't show up right way, or the severity of them does not show up right away, cover your *** and report it.

I didn't call the cops, but after all the pressure from you guys, I will go to collision centre tomorrow.
Should I be calling my insurance too then ? It's such a small damage on the bike to have it sit in the shop for replacement parts though. Does it have to sit in the shop till the parts arrive ?

And, no I'm not getting checked out at the hospital. Even my nose didn't bleed =)

Isn't it too late now? Not sure, just asking.

Install camera's on your bike.

What camera do you use? Do you take it off the bike every time you stop and park? Where do you mount?

I've thought about it, seems like a pain.

I've got the BlackVue for the car, nothing on the bike (yet).

User on here, Rob Maclennan, has a nice setup with front and rear facing camera's, wired into the bike, that auto loop. He would best be able to answer those questions.

At my 2nd accident, I called the collision centre to ask whether they were strictly enforcing the 48hr rule, and I told them the story how I was trying to handle the situation between me and the guy, they said not to worry, and to come in if things don't work out, and so I did.

My insurance company didn't like the story at all when I called in though.

Because in Ontario, your own insurance company pays for your vehicle damages (Direct Compensation Property Damage) and your personal injuries regardless of who is at fault. They don't even recover such from the other insurance company of the at-fault party as it should overall wash-out between companies and there should be savings on the legal costs to do such. Did you vote NDP?

I can imagine that the only time an at fault party would agree to pay your damages would be if they 1. didn't understand DCPD, 2. want to avoid an official accident report with a corresponding finding of fault by their insurance co. and related policy increase...

Again........??????

I think you may have a lack of accident avoidance techniques.

I'd say the same thing if this was all reversed between you and me, just so you know.

I commute on my bike, and I also do part-time touring with days sometimes as long as 1300kms, so I'd agree that I'm more exposed to elements compared to a 25c-noncloudy-sundays Timmy, but that's where it ends.

I believe it's all about probabilities.
In this case for instance, if I was a second further or a second behind off my path, then there would be no accident..
