A little love for Town Moto

One of the world's best kept secrets? A themed-retail store? If you say so, TIME. Not to knock the efforts of the owners--running any small business isn't easy-- but I would expect some kind of real substance to a claim like that.

Sounds like a Hipsters dream ;)

I'll take a hipster over a fist pumping vodka bottle service ******* from the 905.

I've yet to visit Town Moto, but it's awesome to have a Toronto shop featured internationally like this. It's difficult for small business in Toronto so only wish these guys luck in a tough market. Motorcycle shops in the GTA keep closing and local gear selection continues to thin out so rather than bashing a shops certain clientele maybe just be happy that they're making it work.

I kinda have to agree, I can't imagine the pressure of owning a small business today for a niche market. Hope they keep it going and do well. Next time I am in the big city I'll check them out for sure.

I actually read about this shop in Motorcycle Mojo or Cycle Canada this winter (can't remember which mag). Sounds like a cool shop, and I love supporting small business, so I'm planning on riding down this spring sometime. Been a long time since I've ridden down to the big smoke!

Ive been to Town Moto to buy a riding backpack. The girl there really took her time showing me her stock and what recommended some great bags. I ended up ordering a Kriega backpack which she ordered for me for great price and was in store for pickup within 3 days.
I give this place 2 thumbs up.

I've been in a couple times, really interesting and eclectic product mix and brands and stuff not found in any other shop in the province. I hope they thrive and expand the lines and have nothing but good luck.
They were pleasant, helpful and when I asked about coffee shops in the area they sent me across the road to a solid recommendation.

One of the 24 best kept secrets in the world? well not anymore.......

A great reason to visit town moto is because the bellwoods brewery is just a few doors down :D

never been there, but I always go to the pho place right across...Golden Turtle...so yummy.

Nice. Town Moto really is a gem.

Funny how the article said that Belstaff is responsible for the resurgence in interest in bikes. They had a few nice pieces in their history, but unreliable sales channels, tons of knock-offs, and pretentious pricing made them unattractive. They appear to have been operated as a case study in how not to manage a fashion brand. The new Goodwood collaboration looks cool, but it's like having Madonna or Ralph Lauren pretend they invented something. I would have bought a jacket directly from Belstaff a couple of years ago, but the company didn't have their act together.

If the ossington shop decided to carry that brand, it would not be that Town Moto would get Belstaff, rather, it would be Belstaff who would get Town Moto.

That was in Mojo in January. I wrote the article (so thanks for reading!) I spent a fair amount of time with Andrew, one of the owners. Very nice guy, totally loves bikes. The store has a great vibe and the tech nights are a nice way to spend an evening with laid-back gear heads.

Ha. I've been to Town Moto a couple of times, and it has always been after a big bowl of pho and spring rolls from Golden Turtle. They do carry some cool stuff in the store. Although I did feel like a poser wanting to buy all their Triumph clothing and accessories. But I agree with everyone else, and hope the store manages to stick around for a bit. Didn't know about their Tech nights, I'd definitely be interested in going to one of those.
