3-4 days trip recommendation?

Gonna have a 3-4 days break at the end of August. Last year I went to Lake Placid & Lake George area and it was amazing. Lots of twisties, new and smooth roads. Do we have a similar area in north/west Ontario? I have been living in GTA area and don't really know too much outside of it. Would like to stay in Canada this time. Thanks in advance!

I agree with JavaFan's post or a variation of it depending on how much riding you want to do per day.

I've done a shorter loop with a good mix of riding and sightseeing:
Day One: Toronto to Tobermory (stopping at Sauble Falls, Lion's Head, the Grotto), ferry across to South Baymouth, Providence Bay to chill by the beach.
Day Two: Touring around Manitoulin Island. Gore Bay, Misery Bay, Cup & Saucer, Bridal Veil Falls.
Day Three: Little Current to Espanola (nice ride), Sudbury, Killarney.
Day Four: Exploring the nice roads between Hwy 400 and Hwy 11 and back to Toronto.

I like that route but maybe extend it over to Chapleau and down to Iron Bridge. 144 is pretty boring.
Even tho your CB500x has long legs mind your fuel on the stretch through the park in Quebec
You could see moose, fox, sandhill cranes

Or....continue east from Javafans's map at Mont Tremblent and head around Montreal and along the North shore of the St Lawrence all the way to Tadoussac, book a whale watching trip in The St Lawrence and boot about the Saguenay Fjords before coming home. Beautiful scenery out there and some nice roads too.

South of Montreal towards Richelieu on the south bank seems a lot better for traffic then you can cross back over on any one of the bridges across the St Lawrence after Montreal. Your last one for Tadoussac would be at Levis, after that it’s ferries. Depends though, if you’re visiting Tremblent then that doesn’t make sense. Tremblent in the summer is quite nice, you can take the gondola up to the summit and there’s a few hiking trails there. Absolutely can’t recommend the whale watching trip enough. It’s amazing seeing these massive creatures in the St Lawrence realizing you’re still hundreds of Kms from the coast. The tour is pretty well priced too for a 3h trip with a biologist on board to give you insight. You are also more or less guaranteed to see whales. We saw about 20 of about 4 different species. Tadoussac itself is a lovely little town on a bay. Extremely picturesque with some great food options in the town.

Because you asked for north and west Ontario, here's a ride report for a trip out to Thunder Bay, through Manitoulin, across the north shore of Superior over to Chapleau, then Timmins, across to Temiscaming and then south towards home.
Did this Labour Day weekend 8 years ago and route was approximately 3600km: Mississauga to Mississauga
Safe trip!

or if you're not adverse to a bit of US
head south after SS Marie

upper Michigan is nice
much like N. Ontario
Traverse City MI is a pretty cool spot

last bit is a blast across the highway
or time permitting some back roads

1,800 km.....3 days
or 4 easy days and stop to smell the roses a bit

On that route I would dodge up to Chapleau then across to Wawa and then down. Add a little bit of nice riding and more remote.
Moose etc
That west coast Michigan route is good tho I have not completed the whole run ...pick up Tunnel of Trees

Sorry for the late replay guys, work has kept me busy. I like the second route, gotta see if I can book a ferry on Tobermory!

Just did the Algoma Loop this past long weekend.

Day 1: Toronto - Tobermory - Manatoulin Island - Thessalon (Stayed at Carolyn Beach motel)
Day 2: Up 129 to Wawa and then down 17 to Sault Ste. Marie.
Day 3: SSM back to Toronto.

Day 2 is obviously the highlight but the ride through Manatoulin from South Baysmouth to Espaniola is pretty nice.

Also, definitely make a reservation on the ferry ahead of time.

Also also, be gassed up BEFORE you get on the ferry.

you lose the advantage of being first off the boat if you have to stop at the Shell and gas up.
