$140 for valve check/adjustment is dirt cheap....something does not sound right here...
They charge $60 / hour and told me it would take 2 hours and change to have it done.
If thats the case then get it in there ASAP.
I would be very supprised if you find it cheaper anywhere else for a complete valve check and adjustment even from a cash deal. Did you get a quote from Dan at Heritage??
That's an insane deal. When Markham Power Sports quoted my GF on a complete valve check and adjust they quoted 2 hours, but we found out that was just for the check, depending on how many need adjusted it was more. Turned out to be 5 hours labour. An hour to check and an hour and half to adjust the valve.
Yeah sorry I didn't include tax just how long they said it would take for my bike and for the complete package (Check/Adjust). An hour to check and an hour and half to adjust the valve.
I did contact him, what he quoted me was significantly, jaw dropping more than what the dealership quoted me.From personal experience I would have figured it would be the other way around.

EDIT: On another note I did the check today myself, took me 4 hours and everything is within spec, a couple getting pretty close but I can still ride it for a little while. I don't feel confident enough to adjust the valves myself so I bolted her back up. Going to keep looking to see if I can get someone good to do it for $250 as that's all I can afford right now and if I can't then I'll have to let the dealership do it but I'll be watching them as I don't think they're up to the task -- especially this one.
