Funny you should mention that, i fought a ticket in court, and after exposing everything properly, the judge couldnt throw it fully away (i had some missing evidence...which was impossible to get without camera footage) but the cop even shook my hand and told me i did a good job and that if i had said that roadside she wouldve dropped the tickets completely right then and there (i call bullcrap)
So i agree, trying to argue roadside will more often than not solidify the coppers position and maybe even make him/her take down more notes to cover their *****.
That was my first thought with presenting roadside arguments. A few notes by a friend of the court and your arguments are burned.

I had a great OPP experience 2-3 years ago
It was 33 degrees, Friday rush hour.. I am stuck on the 401 on my hypermotard 1100 my leg is literally burning.. I decide to hit the shoulder to go to next exit.
Just my luck opp is there.. he asked why am I on shoulder... I told him the truth. He wrote up ticket, handed it to me and said “take it to court”. I mailed it in for a court date. And never hear anything back

Likely never filed it with the court.
Gave you a ticket because you didn't give him a choice by riding on the shoulder in plain view of everyone else.
As hard as it is for many to believe cops are human...lol Sometimes tickets get lost....

Notice this phenomena each spring. The "snow and accidents season" is over which gives police more time to patrol for violations. Even radar is out now. Saw one last week. Bikers are nothing special, everybody is fair game.

I just realized that I've never been through a RIDE checkpoint in my life. Am I missing out?
Just remember the charge for refusing a breathe test is the same as blowing and being over.
Over the years I've been stopped 3 times at routine RIDE checkpoints, twice in my car and once on my bike. Had officers right in my face asking if I had consumed alcohol and after responding no (truthfully) I was on my way. Seems one officer did not believe me and I blew a zero on his meter and then he let me go.
As much fun as it is to go through all of this keep it simple, don't drink and drive.

I went through one a few years ago and sitting in my tall van I came face to face with the cop who was a super hot woman officer. She leans in just a little too close (a rookie I suspect) and asks me if I have been drinking, and for a second I almost kissed her on the lips. She was that close! She was that insanely hot! And I was that crazy!
Someone later told me that I would have been arrested for assault. What has become of this country?
If you kissed a cop at a RIDE checkpoint, being arrested for assault is probably the least terrible thing that could happen to you
Did you sniff her to know what she smells like?

Don't recall, and didn't matter. She was one of those very rare beauties that could drive men insane. Now that I think of it, she was likely sexually harassed by her male officers in a time when women often took it silently.
BTW, Margaret Thatcher didn't give the whole picture; socialism is really a redistribution of wealth. It drains (shrinks) the middle class while increasing those added to the ranks of the poor. While the wealthy will always remain wealthy.
