holy crap. just checked the Yamaha Canada website. Just about all the 2017 models either come with ABS or u have the option (R3).
About time Yamaha!! FZ07 ABS same for FZ09.

screw Yamaha, the most un-fukking-comfortable street sportsbike ever

seem like almost everyone & their moms have either an R6 or R1.

I have had 4 r6 in the past 04/06/2011/2012- it is a track oriented not really comfortable on the street for long rides, that's way i switch to Suzuki waaayy more comfortable and same with kawi and honda.

Why would you buy a sport bike just for the comfort aspect for the street?

Naked or touring bike are so much better.

It's like buying a lambo and complaining of the poor rear view visibility.

From my own experience, I think people at some point make the step of understanding that a sport bike for the street is completely non sense, but each person needs to get there on their own.

dirt bars and lower foot pegs on my 05 zx10 turned it into an all day tourer...
i used to own a z1000.iloved the bike but it was a heavy pig compared to a sportbike ,the power fell on its face in the upper rpm range and i have always preferedd the look of full fairings.i think its absolutely hilarious when i red on here that big motor nakeds are sportbikes for street, really ?.not even close..the manufactures just push them as hooligan bikes to sell them and people buy that line 24/7,,,,but hey, they are comfy

Not to argue here but you have an interesting point of view.

Naked bikes is not just about higher handle bars or lower goot pegs, to me is the engine characteristics.
So you are saying that for our streets with 100km/hr top speed limit you prefer an engine with higher speeds high in the limiter instead of lots of torque at the bottom where you spend most of the time, you prefer more power where you spend the least amount of time? makes no sense to me.

At the end is all about part of your sentence "I prefer the look of bikes with fairings" and that is ok, I used to as well.

Were you using the Z1000 to tow a cabin cruiser? Maybe you mean specifically a first gen Z1000 with a dead cylinder

it doesnt have to make sense to you ,a little gearing goes a long way ,im sure you know that....and as far as engine characteristics how's the vibration on the fz series,i've been told it really sucks,had the same thing on my z1000.to be totally honest i have nothing againgst nakeds/tourers whatever ...but they are not in the same category as sportbikes,not even close ,insurance companies recognize this but apparently seasoned riders dont ?how that works i dont know...
 
I gotta come correct here,.I just think naked bikes are ugly and played out(meaning all the rage,you know the way girls get when they see the biebs)...and no i am not saying you guys like the biebs,just saying...

the truth is i only ride a sportbike because i like the look of them,well yeah i like the acceleration too,but i guess you could consider me 50% poser...maybe a lil" more,anyways

On the FZ09 I don't have issue with vibration, I did remove the weighted bar ends and that caused some issues with vibration on the handlebars, but I got an aftermarket carbon handle bar that solved most of it, if I puton the stock weight ends I would have no issues at all.

Same category as of what? top end? well my fz09 goes tops 240, just about the same as any 600 i had.

Are you talking about 0 to 100? my fz09 will get there a lot faster than anything I have ridden with the exception of my race gsxr1000.

Are you talking about 100 to 240+ yes for sure a sports bike will kill most naked bikes.

Are you talking technology? sure but some naked bikes have some serious tech on them.

Now if you are comparing top end speed between a naked bike and a liter modern bike then sure, absolutely no comparison, but who the hell truly enjoys the top end speed of a liter bike in our streets? I probably used to 4 to 5 times a year and even then I don't have the balls to go full blast in one of those monsters IN THE STREET.

Don't get me wrong, 3 years ago, you would have not caught me dead riding anything else but a super sport or sport bike, hence why I said people have to get there on their own, mostly through experience.

zx600^^^^we could go back and forth all day on this,enjoy your fz and i'll enjoy my bike.in fact i have toyed with the idea of getting another z1000 at some point ,i don't know,,,

Most definitely not mine.

1) I installed the black anodized 2009+ forks
2) my subframe/seat rails where powder coated black
3) swing arm on that baby is the early design
4) gas-mask over the headlights...

... I could go on, lol ;)

yup, I think I need to build another one haha
