2014 gsx-r 1000 se

Suzuki annoys me. Every gsxr they have, the air intake on the nose never matches the damn bike. My blue one had a black intake. Red one has a grey one etc. why can't they make a matching front nose lol. The wheels an engine covers are horrid on this thing and the factory exhaust isn't very appealing looking either.

Sent from my commodore 64 on dial up

It looks nicer this way. :P But I am with you on the gawdy amounts of chrome and blue powdercoat.

They got the blue and white one right for 2013. Looks way better than an off color for the nose. Too bad they put a red stripe down the side of it

Classic Suzuki colours.

I've seen and set on that special edition Gixxer 1000 in Indianapolis. Even chain is blue. It will find it's customer as there were a bunch of people who were really interested in it.

They tried to make it look so sporty though!??! lol.

Don't knock it - it has stuff that most sport touring bikes don't - cartridge forks, mostly adjustable suspension (stock shock lacks rebound adjustment), radial brakes. It's based on the Z1000, mechanically identical but with bodywork, a bigger gastank & airbox. I liked mine, just got rid of it for the duration of my brief student comeback tour.

I have a Gsxr and I am about to buy another one, love them but they are ugly as hell, all of them

Looks like Suzuki has stopped trying with the liter bike altogether. But looking on the positive side of things, for those of us who keep our bikes for a few years this will be the bike to own cause it's got 6 production years worth of used parts in the market.

No way, didn't think he would ever sell that bike...
To me he will, that Bike and I have a love affair and he knows it ;)

WTF is a Ninja 1000? Saw one at Motorsports Pickering (through the window, when they were closed) and couldn't figure it out :( They still got the ZX10? What's the diff?!!?

lol.. Its a Z1000 with a Fairing. More of a sports tourer, but here because its "Ninja" it gets black-listed too. I've seen a couple in the wild and know someone who has one. Decent bike actually, but always mistaken for a "real Ninja"

Suzuki has kind of cornered themselves with the "less is more" philosophy. They even put that philosophy to video. They won't be adding all the electronics that the BMW has so they are likely to disappoint the wanting community in the coming years...that is until people start getting tired of all the assists that the BMW has. BMW has stolen their thunder for now, but as the Trans-am sold in the 80's, the 5.0 Liter Mustang sold in the 90's, the GSX-R will continue selling as the best-bang-for-your-buck superbike there is. $1000 in add-ons and you have a just short of 200 hp superbike that's easy to ride, affordable and looks pretty sexy too.

My guess is you'll see the 2015 remain the same with the exception of a shortened Aprillia-style RSV4 real tail.

Suzuki isn't totally dumb. They know who their target customer is, and the GSX-R line-up still outsells any other brand. While BMW is off spending millions in R&D, Suzuki isn't as they know motorcycles will return to naked as far as electronics are concerned. People want to see the rider ride the bike, not the bike ride the bike.

While I agree with what you're saying, what's to say that the motorcycle market doesn't shift like the car market does with electronic aids? Nearly every car has some form of traction control and abs now compared to the early 90s.

EDIT: I forgot to add my point lol

As it currently stands, bikes are engineered to operate better without a rider actually on it (if we put a computer on it to control the brake, accelerator, etc., it would probably out ride every human due to how motorcycle aerodynamics are designed). What's to say that a bike with electronic aids isn't to minimize interference from the rider? A few of the most common rider input mistakes are chopping the throttle, grabbing too much brake, and counter leaning or staying straight with the bike through a turn. While I would probably end up stroking my e-peen and telling anyone with aids that prevents the above "back in the day...", it would prevent A LOT of common solo accidents.
