I about to pull the trigger on an all black 2007 Ducati S4RS with factory ohlins, Termi carbon fiber pipe & frame sliders for $7500. It's a dealer I've dealt with in the past, so all cool there. The 10,000k service was completed and there's only 12,000KM on it. So seems like mint for me.

My only concern with this bike in the dry clutch and that it's noisy, some people love it while others hate it. Also, the massive radiator on the front is a little godly and the front light a little dated. Overall though I love the look of the bike, low KMs and has lots of power so it should last me for a while.

The sales guy at the dealer took the below pic. It's not the greatest shot, so I jazzed it up a bit ;)

The below pic isn't the bike I'm thinking about buying, but it kinda gives ya a better idea of the overall look.

Rod,

Just do it. It's like you're nit picking a Victoria's Secret model. WTF are you waiting for man??????? It's calling your name.

How much BTW I would get a new 848 streetfighter if the prices are anywhere near, the new 848 will offer better handling and similar power.

Will you be able to hear the dry clutch with that tiny Termi on there, that mf is going to be loud? You have a solid clutch cover anyway which should take a lot of the clutch noise out.

A duc with a termi is an entirely different experience from your 650. It moves riding from being merely enjoyable to something that you are physically addicted to.

If I had the money, I'd get a Ducati Diavel. I sat on one at GP and I feel in love! The seat height is so low, even my wife at 5.4" could comfortable reach the ground. Handle bar position is so comfortable and and the back tire... my god! But around 18 grand, so over 20 with taxes.

$7500, which in my opinion is a steal. There's a red one at GP Bikes that has double the KMs and no carbon pipe or frame sliders but the're asking 2 grand more.
Not a bad price but it will require 4x the service of a new unit. Ducati doubled the service intervals in 2009 to 12000 from 6000 and again from 12000 to 24000 in 2012.

I'm going to take a look at it soon, so I can here the clutch for myself, but according to the sales guys, you can't hear it about the pipe. LOL And like you said, it has the solid clutch cover :)

Yea, service is another concern for sure. It already had a major service done at 10K, so I'm in the clear for a while. So your saying, with the 07 S4RS every 6000KM there's a fairly major service?

Depreciation is a funny thing, I can't believe that bike is already only $7500. A 2007 R1 would have held its value better, and this bike has some serious bling on it. You're looking at the fastest 'true' Monster ever made - the biggest complaint about it was that it was so weird looking due to them putting a water cooled motor into it.

You probably won't keep this bike forever, but I can guarantee you're going to have fun on it. Don't bend or scratch those rims - they're expensive.

One last thing to consider from the debbie downer perspective. Find out how much this beast is to insure. It might just sober you up from the lust.

I'd rather close my eyes and pull the trigger but, it's easy to spend other people's money.

Cheers man. Have fun.

I was wrong the intervals appear to have been changed (extended) in 2007 . The 4v engines are a bit of a pain and the heads should be removed to adjust the valves. You can download the owners manual from ducatis website but the valves need inspected every 12000 on that bike and the timing belt replaced every 24000. Make sure the service that was done included the valve check.

Yea, the dealer told me they sold this bike new in 2007 for 22K!!!!
