2-Upping Destinations?

Ok - it's true I ride a Harley so I don't have to be smart 'cause I'm pretty. What's an SS?

I know nothing of sport bikes and for my own personal taste the Road King and Road King Classic are the only two bikes on the planet although a Fat Boy and Heritage Classic are easy on the eyes. If I try to climb on a sport bike it starts screaming something about an old man touching me and how it needs an adult.

lol...
Nothing wrong with riding a cruiser, I just don't think I'm that "experienced" yet... ;)

It's actually a touring bike disguised as a cruiser. That's why I love it but yeah, it's 800 lbs and the thought of doing a wheelie on it scares me.

Now I have to go look up a super sport bike and see what it looks like. :)

... but yeah, it's 800 lbs

Holy cow! It's a fort on wheels! I was toying with the idea of getting a cruiser type touring bike, but if it is twice the weight of my current one, I'm sot so sure... Do you have a photo of yours up on the net somewhere? I'd like to take a peek of it.

Sure - show me yours too ok? :) That's my bike in my signature, but lets see if I can figure this out. Let me know if this works. I am putting a bit more chrome on it this year, or trading it in for a 2012 Road King.

Cool! A little more chrome than I could handle, but it looks very nice. How's the apes working out for you? Did you go for longer rides with it? Didn't it bother your shoulders?

Here is mine:

OK, here is a better one from last year's photo tag game:

Nice hot rod you have there. Is it taking a nap? It doesn't look tired. :P

The 16 inch apes saved my shoulders. I had to get everything set up ergonomically so I have the proper mustang 4 piece seat, the correct angle and height on the apes, and everything for my wing span and in seam. I'm picking up a sheepskin for my butt from Ikea for $40 too - the Rens I think it's called.

Now that I've seen your bike you can easily have a picnic basket. Look up the Trangia mess kit from MEC, and the 2 litre or 4 litre dromedary, and you can get a blue mesh bag with a couple of plates, cups, bowls, knife, fork spoon, salt/pepper shaker etc. It would all fit in your travel pack along with your coffee/coffee mate in little plastic travel bottles, and a couple of cans or tupperware containers of whatever. All available from MEC. If you need help let me know and I can try to itemize, but when you go make sure you speak with one of the 'super camper' employees. They have all the good tips. :)

It was 2live&ride who needed the picnic upgrade. My bike is not a SS by any means. I'd kill myself instantly on one of those.

I plan to mount two Pelicans on the side soon, and I'm good to go for weeks.

Sorry for the tread hijack!

Here is another good link for day trips: http://www.sundaymorningrides.com/canada/

LMAO A.K. Obviously your dad never beat your *** for leaving your bike lying in the middle of the driveway while yelling at you about a kick stand!

No, he usually went like this: Don't you dare to buy a motorcycle! Ever!

I thought ypcat was kidding when he said he didn't know what an ss is...
Here is a picture of what my bike looks like, as you can see the storage is a bit of an issue.

Very impressive looking bike and yeah - not kidding - didn't know what an SS was at all. As I said, I'm pretty so I don't have to be smart. Ok so I'm not pretty either.

Is there no option for a bag of any sort on the tail? Even a small one that could be removable? Oh well - I guess your bike is for riding the way you want to ride. Mine's a camper :)

He could fit a tank bag and I'm sure there's some after market method for attaching a tail or saddlebags.

I'm not big on tank bags and saddlebags? Really? lol...
If anything I might just my girl to strap on a backpack.

Looking almost like a proud hunter with it`s kill (road kill :lmao:)!
Did ya gut and fillet it right on the spot

I couldn't. We were out in the boonies in Quebec. I needed to get home somehow. It was hard enough to get it back rubber side down with a help of my friend. My boots didn't have much traction on gravel.

Try riding on the back of a GSXR 750 for 6 hours with a backpack, then get back to me.
I hear that...
We won't be getting into any serious long distance riding until she's 100% comfortable/confident.
Short destinations at first until she gets comfortable on the bike to take longer trips (3/4 hour rides etc..)
I have taken this into consideration. Thanks for the heads up.
