    Where to get a puppy?

We have a very trusted friend who looks after the dogs in the house when we are away. If she can’t do it, we don’t go away. We used to board them in kennels when they were younger but they came back bored and unhappy plus they kind of have special needs now and I never fully trusted the...

    Where to get a puppy?

We got an SUV for our dogs but it didn’t work as well as we wanted. Needed a separate opening rear window (it's just useful, trust me) but not many SUVs have that so hunted around for one that did. Bought one used. Cost us a fortune. Bed was too high for the dogs to jump onto when they got...

    Where to get a puppy?

It's not cheap but for us we have come out more or less even or better over the years. Vet fees are no joke. One of our guys has been on anti-inflammatories since he was 10 weeks old. The insurance covers (80%) his painkillers, a shot every month for arthritis and pain. He had an ACL surgery...

    Where to get a puppy?

You're missing out on a bunch of potential good furry friends with the weight and fur thing. Get any young dog and train it well and it should be good with kids. Older dogs with bad habits would be harder. When our beagle died we went out and adopted two fluffy things that turned into 50lb+...

    Anyone here a cyclist?

I'm quite fond of my collarbones.

    Anyone here a cyclist?

I put paint protector film on my hardtail today. Saw a few scratches that were bothering me so got it done before they multiply. Wasn't too bad to do. Already made my mistakes on another bike first. Main error is not using enough soapy water on the back AND the front of the film and the bike...

    Anyone here a cyclist?

Thanks I'll measure those up. I got a message back from the folks selling the Fox fork about my plans and they said there would be a small advantage to the e-bike but a big step up for the hardtail getting the e-bike shock (if it fits). One of the small advantages for the e-bike would be that...

    Anyone here a cyclist?

If I want to check whether a suspension fork in one bike will fit on the other is it as simple as measuring the fork crown to steerer tube top distance on both bikes? The concern is the cut steerer tube height. I guess you can always adapt with spacer addition/removal too right?

    Anyone here a cyclist?

The shock on my e-bike is very decent, the one on the hardtail is ok. I just wondered if my idea would work to upgrade both. It would be less work to just swap out the hardtail RockShox fork.

    Anyone here a cyclist?

It's mainly the hardtail. Everything else would be a bonus. It's a decent fork on the Roscoe but it’s just for light trail use. would just appreciate a step up as I'm a heavier rider so less chance of stuffing it up. The rake/offset on the sale Fox fork is 51mm vs the 44mm that’s there now...

    Anyone here a cyclist?

Anyone here a suspension whisperer? Rain man when it comes to shocks? I have a plan but I want to know if it makes sense. I'd like to upgrade the fork that's in my Trek Roscoe 7 (hardtail) that is currently a RockShox Recon Silver 140mm travel. Not the bottom of the barrel but it's a budget...

    ChapGPT Open AI

There are some websites that “harvest” copywrited material from instructors in colleges and universities that are then provided back to students at a profit. I hate these things. I may have allegedly, possibly, hypothetically, anonymously seeded some of their question and answer material with...

    ChapGPT Open AI

Students get a bit startled when they find out their AI written paper that contained references didn’t actually include real references at times. They were made up to look real. I go to search them and they don’t exist. Over reliance on AI is responsible for people claiming certain things as...

    Daily sports car?

If I bought a sports car practicality wouldn’t be high on the list. It would have to be open top and just look good. When I was a kid those Morgans had a wait list of several years, not sure what they are now. Mind you, they also had wooden running boards too. I'm more confused about the...

    Daily sports car?

There's a guy near me who has 4 MG projects. I'm reasonably convinced that he has half a car and the others supply parts on a regular basis. A friend of mine had a classic Land Rover that he claimed could be fixed with a single wrench. Which is good, because it needed fixing a lot and he...

    Daily sports car?

Dad just bought it because it was cheap. He trashed it like the rest of his cars. He often took seats out to fit his construction tools in. This (the Wolsely) was by far my favourite car of all that he had. He bought one of these new for instance which was basically the symbol of the decline...

    Daily sports car?

My dad had one of these, exact same colour but no added sunroof. It's a “posh” mini with walnut trim etc. He got it used. Great little car.

    Go to automotive cleaning products.

The spray works better, it’s the only thing I use on auto glass. It’s like magic. If you don’t already have one get a foam gun for a pressure washer to wash the car. I occasionally use it on the bike too. Great for an interim clean as well as prep for a more thorough one. You can get one...

Oct. 2 Wheeler's Pancake House Loop

If you time it wrong that place is annoying fly central. This time of year it's probably perfect. If you get there when the sap is running you can sit inside, eat and watch the syrup flow through their pipelines. Great setting off point too for lots of fun roads on and off asphalt. Last time...

    ChapGPT Open AI

My students use it. Their emails all look the same if they do. I pay attention to the ones that actually thought about what they write. If they use it for homework I'll give their marks to ChatGPT instead. AI bots won’t tell you that they don’t know, they are excellent liars and you risk...
