    Humber motorcycle safety course

Like everyone else was mentioning, the course was fantastic, very helpful instructors. One of their suggestions, to prep for the rain was to put those plastic grocery bags around your feet, then put your boots on (if they're not waterproof) The bags would at least keep some of the water off...

I'm not new, but my parents will be, so I'll introduce them!

I sort of had a similar plan when I started late last summer. Didn't brake A, broke B the first afternoon I rode, broke C a few weeks after that, didn't break D yet. That's mostly because of the g/f.

Really didn't think this would go where it did, lol I've explained 2-up riding to them, and how tricky it'd be. I'm pretty sure they'll get a decent amount of riding time before they get into the 2-up riding

I'm not new, but my parents will be, so I'll introduce them!

So I picked up a GS500 last summer as my first bike and have been having a blast. I guess they're seeing how much fun it is and want dive in to riding too. We swing by Kahuna today and they were looking at a few bikes they thought looked good. They're leaning towards doing a lot of 2-up...

    ABS sheets, Delrin rods

They typically have an 'off-cut' pile. A lot of scrap pieces to dig through. That's what I typically get when I go there. Mostly stuff in sheets, but I also remember bags of random sized material (thicker blocks of UHMW and acrylic)

    Picking up gear today!

GP Bikes is a great place! Was just there a few weeks ago, they had all gloves at 30% off, I think. They also had a clearance section too, I think. Staff is pretty knowledgeable too.

Just picked up my first bike!!!!

Wow!! I had no idea the fine was that huge! Thanks for the info. I'm in Montreal, bike's in TO for the rest of the week, so that'll hold off the temptation. Getting safety and plates this weekend when I'm back, then I should hopefully be good to go.

Just picked up my first bike!!!!

By rough idle I meant you can hear the valves chattering, bike has 45k kms, valve adjustment had never been done

Just picked up my first bike!!!!

Just picked it up this morning. It's an 03 GS500. It idles a little rough, but it's nothing a valve job won't fix. I have all my gear and I'm pretty much ready to go. Just have to safety it and away I go!! But it's sooooo tempting just having it sit there without being able to ride. I go...

    GS500 - Fairing removal

    GS500 - Fairing removal

Did you just take the headlight out of the fairing portion that holds it? And does that mount straight to the brackets that you got?

    GS500 - Fairing removal

From some of the pictures, it looks like the headlight is built in to the top fairing. Are you planning on getting a new headlight bucket or just keep the top fairing?

    GS500 - Fairing removal

Can the fairing be removed on a GS500F to make it look like the unfaired version (I think that's the GS500E?) The GSTwin website is down right now, so can't really sniff around on there for answers. I'm assuming the lights and mirrors could just be re-located to the frame and front forks?

First Post - Need Bike Advice!!

I wasn't sure if the preload or rebound were adjusted all the way down or up (for a softer or stiffer ride), I had forgot to ask if the preload and rebound had been adjusted or not. But the shocks were stock and nothing had been done to them. I don't mind wrenching on something, I do enough...
