Riding during stay at home order.

My work is considered an "essential service" and my job requires me physically be at work. Our company has provided employees that have to go to work with a letter saying we are required to commute. It will be interesting to see how this plays out when out riding on a non-work day. When...

Who's still riding? (Fall & Winter 2020 Edition)

Usually I get them done once in the first 30,000 km and check again somewhere around 80 to 100,000 km. They generally dont move after the first check. ..Tom

Who's still riding? (Fall & Winter 2020 Edition)

I typically go through 4 rear tires and 3 or 4 front tires ever season. The way I have been maintaining my chains (until my current bike) has allowed my chains to last over 80,000 km so a new chain roougly every year and a half. Front and rear pads when I need them. Not really a ton of stuff but...

Who's still riding? (Fall & Winter 2020 Edition)

You could call the movie "Bridge over the river ice." or something like that. Wish I could ride a trials bike! (Bad knees and weight make it impractical.) When I was 13 and had my first motorcycle (Honda 90 road bike) I rode it all the time. It weighed almost nothing and was fun in the...

Who's still riding? (Fall & Winter 2020 Edition)

Yesterday was a nice day riding in. Was fooled by the weather reports this am. Weather spoke of flurries around the GTA heavy in some spots, and "Weather Network's" radar made it look heavy. At -7 that could have lead to ice on the road so I drove. Ultimately the roads were a bit wet in a...

Since I live East of toronto I guess day trips tend to head east. Probably Bancroft and area more than anything but really I can end up anywhere. This spring and summer I explored a lot south of Perth Ontario and also west south and north of Cambridge area down to lake Erie. Long trips tend to...

Welcome! I do much the same mileage. I have been doing over 50,000 km a year for the last few years (although last year with lack of big trips only managed 49,000km.) I ride all year except when there is (or risk of) ice and snow on the roads. ..Tom
