Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

I have seen a size limit of 10 square meters, 108 sf where not attached to the house but it gets confusing. You don’t need a permit but the structure still has to adhere to the building code. In Toronto it also varies with the part of the city, Etobicoke? Mimico etc and even specific streets

And this is why we still need thermal generating capacity

As with most studies on things of this nature, they are financed (controlled) and released (at opportune times) by the governments.

And this is why we still need thermal generating capacity

I would be more impressed if there wasn't wholesale corruption driving the system.

And this is why we still need thermal generating capacity

I know someone who used to have a quiet house. Then the neighbour paved the driveway between the houses instead of leaving it mostly gravel. The solid connection between the houses lets them hear each other’s conversations. Not everyone is as susceptible to the same things. PTSD and food...

    How forward should we look?

I've had two Norway maples removed from my place because their root systems tend to kill themselves off after 60-70 years. They were the tree of choice a half century go but are now considered an invasive species because of seed volume. Not enough foresight. EV technology is advancing faster...

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

ESA: An electrician friend had to run an underground feed in south Oshawa area. The general dug the trench but an electrician had to kick the conduit into it.

Where to get cast aluminum welded?

Too late but I would have tried a threading tap to cut a bit of thread into the upper part of a couple of the through holes. Then insert a drilled plug with a smaller I.D and thread. use an appropriate bolt or piece of threaded rod to push the halves apart. If you haven't got a reinforcing ring...

The Bad Drivers of Ontario Thread

I've heard the stories before, usually a guy in an RV making himself a sandwich. However the verification path goes invisible and it turns out to be a folk story with no names, specific details etc. I assume this resulted in a documented ticket, hopefully dangerous driving.

The Bad Drivers of Ontario Thread

You have quoted Blackstone's ratio before. The VMD (Visible Minority Driver), possibly a former resident of Brampton, shows full disregard of the safety of his passengers. He would, IMO, be equally dangerous operating any vehicle, machine or process. After having an industrial unit in Brampton...

The Bad Drivers of Ontario Thread

As the female officer is explaining that the transport driver put the rig in cruise control and left his seat to get a bottle of water the male cop asks "How dangerous is that?" Could he ask a dumber question? More than one bale of hay fell off the wagon.

And this is why we still need thermal generating capacity

People living nearby complain the vibrations make them sick. I once ran a hydraulic jackhammer in a stairwell for a day. It worked well, powerful and very controllable. At the end of the day I was ready to puke.

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Does Canada become their clearance centre? Who's going to drop that kind of money with Chinese vehicles coming in and the Koreans reprogramming price points? How do you shut down the US market other than sending everything back to Sweden?

Possibly to an early morning crash KSI investigation, Posting at 3:00 PM just after I saw the jam. Earlier I managed to bypass the mess and saw a large group of riders parked on the shoulder just before the QEW / Dundas split.

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

I assume that's $10K off the residual if you buy the car or arrange to sell it to a friend. There is so much flux in the EV market guessing the financial future is like playing three dimensional chess in the dark.

What did you do in your garage today..?

Did you scrub your hands after all the work? FWIW I've been using a paint pad as a scrub brush for my hands. They're softer than a typical scrub brush and the thousands of fine hairs seem to get into all the fingerprint grooves.
