    Soccer/football thread 2022

Well, Slot is out. Wonder if Pep would take the job? On the other side of things, watching this champions league final and Arsenal have had one shot on goal in105 mins of normal time. What a dull, dull side.

12V technology has come a really long way. These tools are a lot different than ones from years ago and for many tasks around the home they are great. I prefer my 12V driver over my big 18V hammer drill as it’s just convenient and especially if using it in confined spaces or overhead. I got...

I had a play with the tool before. It’s a solid little thing, not too bulky and seems to be made very well. Makes me want to go and buy a bunch of IKEA furniture.

I have a small Rigid hackzall and got a green wood blade for it and now it’s a pruning beast in the garden. It’s my go to for clearing thick branches from overhanging my fence line etc.

According to reviews, you can use the tool as a manual ratchet to break bolts loose then use the power function. Depends how tight they are though. Relax says the gears will slip if you apply too much force.

What did you do in your garage today..?

Powerfister seems even slightly worse than powerfist. Like some kind of Pornhub super hero.

Yes it comes with the battery and charger and a socket adapter 1/4” maybe? It’s just for light duty use but for most things it’ll be fine especially my mountain bikes and shelves etc. Here’s the blurb…. The M12 Cordless 3/8" LITHIUM-ION Ratchet is the most compact and powerful ratchet in its...

We Know you Ride, But do you Shoot?

I approached things a different way but same outcome.. “That handgun is too heavy for me…” “Honey, I got a nice light polymer one for you”.

Mods. Maybe there’s enough interest to have a tools and consumables (oil etc) deal thread? Anyway, not a necessity but a nice tool to have and takes the place of a pneumatic ratchet for quite a few jobs aside from the biggest bolts/highest torques...

    Pay Day Loans

I forgot to add one other thing. When you’re searching for credit relief issues and things like that it’s also not that uncommon to find other predatory companies that will encourage you to consolidate your multiple debts under their umbrella so that they now have access to the interest you...

    Pay Day Loans

That’s kind of what I mean. In the UK there is the Citizens Advice Bureau which is a centralized agency that advises on any number of topics and those that aren’t internet savvy know it exists to use the phone with. It would be good to have something like that even if all they do is triage the...

    Pay Day Loans

Yes but if you’re desperate with a low credit score there aren't too many options and knowing what you’ll pay for a given loan amount after x months/years does take a bit of skill if you’re not explicitly told. What we need is a kind of central advice system for people, especially the elderly...

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

The pavers look like crap though that’s the issue. I’ve built decks in other parts of the garden and they look great but they had more clearance than I have for this one and not built one on sleepers before. I’ve thought about just pulling up the pavers and pouring a concrete pad too but that...

These are just quasi legal loan sharks. The guy in the small engine shop is probably a great mechanic and poor businessman/poor at finances but he didn’t deserve to be prayed upon by these ********.

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Ahhh…looks like I can do something similar to this….plus I could even try to screw a few sleepers into the pavers. It’s going to be a fair bit of shimming but should work. https://www.familyhandyman.com/project/how-to-build-a-deck-over-a-concrete-patio/ 2x4 x12 for sleepers and then I could...

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

These pavers are in rough shape too. I was hoping a low level floating deck would just cover everything up and look good and negate the need to do a ton of hauling and lifting. There are Tuffblock deck footings that are low profile but even those would mean a deck that is 6.5” above grade...

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

I have deck tiles now. I tried to level things out with gravel on top of parts of the pavers but that didn’t work so well. Looks good though.

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Next project. I’d like to build a ground level deck that has an uneven shape with a few different angles etc over a set of uneven pavers. The problem is that I can only really have this deck just under 4” in overall height as there’s a door threshold that I need to tie in to. How can I frame...
