You have to do a tune on them. The default tune on them is atrocious. The 5k rpm torque dip on the pre-2026 models is insane. The 2026 enduro has a slightly better stock tune at 5k rpm. It's all for emissions and it makes a tune mandatory. I have a 2023 with a full system rottweiler set up...

They really don't like it when you do that. Probably a liability thing. I've seen it actively enforced. This was a buddy at a KTM demo day at Apex. It wasn't just after the ride but also during the ride.

While I do like how the Shads look, Givi is just as good and cheaper.

Most definitely. 3 dropped bikes on that demo ride session. However, I learned nothing about the 1290 GT except how hot it gets while waiting at stop lights.

I've only done the KTM demo day at GP. The route was mostly in town. You do not have any opportunity to confirm much else besides that the motorcycle is a motorcycle. I don't think I got out of 2nd gear.

Its not so much the age but the specific years, 2012-now have so many bikes with electronics packages available only for a year or two coinciding with the launch of bosch's 6 axis IMU in 2014. Not saying every bike uses it, but so many manufacturers were trying to play catch up with their own...

On all my KTMs ridden with a quick shifter, downshift is amazing as long as you don't go more than 1 gear. Do it within the operating limits and it's awesome. Can easily do hands free to a zero at a light with the downshifts. rc390, 690 smcr, 790 duke, 790 adventure, 990 rcr. The upshift...

For upshift, clutchless is worth learning always as it'll teach you about loading the transmission. It should also take you all of 2 minutes to learn. For downshifts, your transmission will prevent it when there is too much of a speed mismatch, but you'll hear the most alarming clacking sounds...

Didn't watch the video, but I know someone who left on the 'passenger' pegs on their 690 and used it exactly like this.
