If you give up street, the money you save on insurance can be used to pay for track days quite easily. Motorcycle trailers can be rented for less than $40/day at U-Haul.
Or buy some ramps for your Mav:
Nothing special needed for your bike as well, lots of people run what they brung with...
If you have no pretension of riding dirt, the Multi is the perfect crossover bike, IMO.
Especially this version:
Proper Panigale engine. Dry Clutch. SSSA. Beautiful.
Excellent write-up, thanks for that!
We found out the hard way that the sleeping bag temperature rating is a survival number, not a comfort number. -7C rating means you will survive the night at -7C. To be comfortable in -7C, you need a -18C bag.
Thanks for the detailed write-up! (y)
I've tested the V4 in a Diavel, but now you've got me interested in the Multi's implementation!
Which gen is your dream bike?
I'd say the trails are safer, but then you get the long weekend yahoos drunk while hooning around on ATVs and dirtbikes.
I almost got broadsided a couple of hours ago by a little kid on a tiny Husqvarna dirtbike barreling down a hill, unable to stop!
Don't think he was drunk though...
True that.
Reserve light would go off at 150 km!
V-Rod's tank cap eventually went from 14L to 19L in 2007. A welcome change to alleviate range anxiety for those heavy-throttle-handed owners...
BMW is experimenting with input interface to its TFT screen.
You move through the menu system using your butt.
Press down on your left or right butcheek to move the cursor left and right.
Shift backwards and press down with your tailbone to back up to the last menu.

Yeah, since the friction zone is at the last 10% of travel (if adjusted correctly), pulling it all the way to the grip is wasted movement the rest of the 90% of the way unless you're coming to a full stop, and then it's only to ensure your clutch isn't slipping while at a standstill.
Try...
The ultimate irony is that used PanAm resale prices have dropped through the floor.
Due to reliability concerns, nobody wants those.
A used V-Rod is going to be a lot more reliable than a used PanAm.
Huh....
I think I may have hit my own personal automatic vs manual transmission moment.
Short of a power or mechanical failure of both my GPS *and* smartphone, I cant think of a situation where I'd prefer paper maps over electronic.
Paper is a good backup, but the speed and convenience of a...
welp... that's a hard pass for me right there.
I know I'm a crap rider, no need to prove that to anyone in some kind of macho showdown on public roads. 😕
Whadayamean?
That front-engined/rear-drive layout is perfect for snow and ice! 😈
Had to leave the FR car at Bay/Bloor parking lot after I couldn't get it up the hill at Mt. Pleasant after an ice storm. Had snows on too...
I wasn't the only one who had to turn back.
Since then I've invested...
I don't ride with ex-racers, but *everyone* in our riding group has waaay more experience than I do. So I'm *always* the weakest rider.
My Spidey-Sense goes off the hook whenever I hear these phrases said out loud:
"Not feelin' it today. Let's just go for an easy loop this time"
"Hey! I know a...
