    TwinPegs anyone using them?

A couple of good videos on why "adventure" boots are not good off-road riding boots: My Go-To for the longest time was an old pair of Alpinestars Tech 8. Good crush protection, limits over-flexion of the ankle and good lateral support (won't fold in half sideways). Unfortunately, they were...

    Why, why, why,

Feel the same. But everyone's red line is different. For some it's cruise control. Others it is electrical start vs kick. Or EFI vs carbs. Personally, for me, the riding experience is the most important thing. If the bike rides and handles the way I like it to, I don't care how you turn on or...

    Transalp review

100% I took one out for a ride and was going to do a write-up on it, but realized I had zero nice things to say about it, so I skipped the review. The suspension is terrible for off-road. Too soft and the bike doesn't track where you want it to go in the rough stuff. Horrible handling, easily...

    Who's riding?

Another nice weekend. Headed out to the lower mainland for the 2nd weekend in a row, this time all the way to the coast. Did the Sea to Sky highway all the way up to Lillooet, stopped at Whistler to take my obligatory Inukshuk picture: High of 25°C, but a low of 5°C up at the summit of the...

Poor Service and Questionable Inspection Standards at GP Bikes

A lot of Harley dealerships are like that - won't service older bikes. Seems kind of strange, since they haven't upgraded their technology since the 1940s...

    TwinPegs anyone using them?

Never tried them, but I did have arch fatigue (not the same as leg muscle fatigue, I know) when I wore regular riding boots, as they didn't provide a lot of sole support. I moved to MX boots with a metal shank in the sole which gave me a solid platform to stand on. Perhaps this might solve your...

Buy a shredder AKA Scam minimizer

My dad hasn't met an e-mail attachment he hasn't felt compelled to click on. My regular visit to the parents includes fixing stuff around the house and regularly de-lousing his computer of viruses, malware, keyboard loggers, etc. On his most vulnerable accounts, I enabled 2FA and use my own...

    Who's riding?

Well, if you fill the milk crate up with oil, it'll eventually leak and spill out all the way to the ground, so it's very much on-brand as a Harley accessory... I say (y)

    Who's riding?

100% I find that it gets really bad at the start of the riding season. Also equally bad in the middle of the ridng season. And just as bad at the end and during off-season...

How would you strap down a Suzuki Burgman on a trailer?

Not a fan of straps either. When I was researching restraint systems, two that I really liked the looks of was Bike Binderz: As well as the Pit Bull. I already have a couple of their stands. Well-made. But in the end, I just stayed with chocks and straps. Cheaper. 🤷‍♂️

How would you strap down a Suzuki Burgman on a trailer?

Agree. The higher the straps the more leverage, but @adri's massive photo dump convinced me too. Personally, I'd still use the bars or the bottom of the triple tree if I had access to it.

    Clutch micro switch q

I know the push rod you're talking about. I've switched levers on all my bikes and a lot of the hydraulic clutch models have that push-rod/pin going into a rubber-sleeved well. The factory does use grease to lubricate that push-rod. My favorite levers are from Pazzos, and I've followed their...

How would you strap down a Suzuki Burgman on a trailer?

I think what he did was wrap a strap around the front tire, then took the strap that was wrapped around the fork and pulled it forward to that strap instead of out so it wouldn't put pressure against the plastic when tightened. Kind of a workaround bodge job and provides nowhere near the lateral...

    Who's riding?

Season opener for one of the groups we belong to, held out in Chilliwack, about 3 hours away. Threw some drybags on the back of the ADV bikes and spent the weekend out in the lower mainland, hanging out with friends, old and new. What a turnout! Lots of bikes, I estimate well over 100 riders...

How would you strap down a Suzuki Burgman on a trailer?

Found this on the interwebs: Looks like soft straps around the bottom of the triple tree around the forks, as well as the passenger grab rails to compress the rear. Only complication is the soft straps in the front are pulled forward and not out to the sides, presumably to clear the...
