It’s worth nothing. Tesla and SpaceX stock valuations are running on nothing more than false promises and Elons fart dust. Many comments / posts I read are all ‘I’m investing in Elons vision’…. So basically….he is the stock.

Once all is said and done, we’ll know where we stand financially depending on the final CG tax amount (expecting 50-70k). Pay that down and then work with what to do next and how our renewal goes. Plan is for HELOC but I’ll reach out to my broker today to get his opinion as well on best route...

@nobbie48 Wasaga is changing fast (they’re getting a COSTCO!) and there is a lot of new builds. I’m going to upgrade the house slightly to make it more livable and more modern instead of the wood panelling look. New drywall, new ceiling drywall, bathroom needs a ton of work as it’s horrible...

100% I’m not gonna go for it because it’s a ludicrous price IMO for what would add…maybe 500sqft of living space. The land value is worth more than the house.

Got a quote to put up a second story at the cottage…100k just for framing (rough price) with me being responsible for getting all the permits and approvals. That includes second story framing, roof, and enclosing it from the elements.

I've seen them go into stucco. Plenty of houses in our neighbourhood have woodpecker holes within their stucco. Maybe they like the insulation / styrofoam? Can't figure out what else could be in there that would entice them. One house has about 20 holes above their garage.

This was my setup. Ear plugs to kill the wind noise, and music through the helmet CARDO speakers I had. Worked great. Could never get ear pods or any in-ear speakers work as they always fell out or got moved to a painful position.

I very rarely ever see an above ground, in ground, or anything in between that has a fence besides the yard fence. I understand it but can’t remember the last time I’ve seen one. My fence is more to keep the kids out, and the dog away from scratching the pool liner.

I don’t need one but I want it to prevent the kids from going in when we’re not looking.

Mesh fence has the following posts and sleeves to install… The sleeves are supported to be installed in concrete and the posts in the sleeves. Not in the mood to make concrete footings for every post so thinking patio stones (thanks @GreyGhost ) or using 2x6 and do cross bracing so they...

If that’s reasonable mine will be up for sale soon! I figured these were in the 600-800$ range.

If you’ve got old PT posts laying around I’d be happy to take them off your hands. Need to install a mesh fence around the pool and don’t feel like making concrete footings for it.

Watched the ‘Hail Mary Project’. Didn’t expect to like it as much as I did, but it was a good watch.

As for around the house….few hours in the sun getting rid of the top layer of grass for the above ground pool. Last time we laid the pool on grass it smelled like death for a month once we removed the pool. Fence goes in tomorrow / Monday and then starting the setup.

My buddy at work was renting A SINGLE BEDROOM!!!! For $1000/month….no private bathroom, no private kitchen….nothing. 8 bedrooms in that single house each renting for 1k/month. Owner has 8 more houses with similar layouts…. Owner bought the properties back in the 90s and early 00s….making bank now.

Sadly this is our worry here in Mississauga with each house up for sale. I’d say 20-40% of the houses are being converted into rentals… Let’s just say it changes the neighbourhood and not for the better. 2 quotes for the roof….$8500 and $12500 for the same shingles and scope.
