Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

I’m installing an I’m installing a 50 amp receptacle for someone today that will be using a charger that monitors your usage, sells your carbon credits to various commercial businesses and cuts you a check at the end of the month. I really don’t know more about it than that.

    Fall colours

I usually do a ride up Shelter Valley Rd. From Grafton, a ride around Rice Lake and lunch at The Rhino in Bewdly or Muddy’s in Keene. The brisket at Muddy’s is to die for, one of the best I’ve ever had. This would be the perfect weekend to do that ride.

    COVID and the housing market

…yes but if your ambitious and going to take chances , do it when your young and you can sit back on your equity later in life and cash in when the kids are gone or when your retired etc. I got married and bought my first house in my late twenties, worked night and day and paid it off in 3...

    COVID and the housing market

That’s true if you only have a primary residence but having a higher net worth allows you to acquire additional investment properties when golden opportunities present themselves, residential or otherwise. The most financially successful people I’ve known over the years have had two things in...

    COVID and the housing market

As I’ve said before, the next year or two could be a good time to turn lemons into lemonade if you’ve got a few bucks, the stomach and the time. I remember looking at 4 bedroom houses in the Beaches (with parking) in ‘95 for $320k-$360 when the market tanked. I chickened out and played it safe...

The Reasonably Priced Used Motorcycles for Sale Thread

Nice find, I owned two of those, a red ‘80 and a black ‘81. They had an absolutely fabulous indestructible engine. The stying of the 1150 was a little out there but those engines are still being drag raced today although the supply is dwindling. They were the Hyabusas of their day. I wish that...

    GTAM Great Big Giveaway!

Yes, there’s actually a harm reduction site on the other side of the museums parking lot whose door opens up onto that same parking lot (the museum’s property) , the city allowed this. The Satan’s Choice clubhouse is right next door to the museum and they have offered to “clean up” the parking...

    COVID and the housing market

A friend’s son just bought a townhouse at Hwy. 7 and Scibberas Rd. in Unionville for $750k. A tired, not very big , 3 small bedrooms and requiring a facelift (kitchen cabinets, paint, flooring etc.). Two years ago an identical unit sold for 1.1 million, Asian money has propped that area up for...

We Know you Ride, But do you Shoot?

Where is a good place to buy ammo? I use to get some cheap surplus from Marstar ( I think that’s their name) in Montreal but that was a long, long time ago.

We Know you Ride, But do you Shoot?

What do you estimate your .223 reload cost per round is? How much would you have to spend for a decent setup to reload your own rounds? That sounds like something that I would be interested in.

We Know you Ride, But do you Shoot?

I’m considering getting my PAL but am having second thoughts after seeing the cost of ammo at Canadian Tire yesterday, I just about had a heart attack. Then I went overt to the paint section to get a quart of paint thinner which use to be about $3.99 and it’s now $15 but I’m getting off topic. I...

Charging lead acid batteries in the house?

I went to start my work van years ago and the battery exploded under the hood and I mean exploded, I thought it was a car bomb. There was acid and plastic battery parts everywhere under the hood. There must have been hydrogen buildup under the hood and a spark from a loose battery cable set it...

I bought the RK chain tool form Sprocket Center about 20 years ago , it’s the one they use and recommend and it’s still going strong.

Fall Colors Ride - Vermont & Adirondacks

I did a similar ride a few years back, I think it was the last week in September or not much later. We pulled into Lake Placid around 10 in the evening and it had started snowing pretty hard as we came into town. Fortunately the sun came out later the next morning and the snow was gone by noon...

525 Chain; Which is best/worst? Where to buy?

I’ve always used RK chains, a little cheaper than DID and they seem to hold up just fine. Those are the two brands used by most Japanese bike manufacturers.I’ve bought a few chain and sprocket kits from The Sprocket Center online.Their prices are pretty good, when I checked a few years back it...
