Law Enforcement - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.....

TPS releases finding of OPP investigation into their *&^bag employees that had no issue lying on the stand. First few minutes are Demkiw talking about how awesome Northrup was. In shocking news "The OPP found no evidence that the constables lied or colluded to lie". We investigated ourselves...

    E bikes rampaging Toronto streets

What are the legal implications? I assume they could hit you with unlicensed, uninsured motorcycle if a cop was having a bad day? Lots of these machines (one-wheel, e-scooter, etc) seem like they could be a good part of efficient mobility but laws are unfriendly towards them. To be fair, many of...

    Where to get a puppy?

I'm with you. My wife and her co-worker are on a different program. They are all-in. That's why we have pet insurance. Avoids fights/divorce over the amount being spent on a stupid (but nice) dog that is easily replaced. Our last dog lived for 10 years and cost $22K total. I was appalled and my...

    Where to get a puppy?

A big problem with pet insurance is I couldn't find any that was like term insurance. I want to pay $x per year for y years. None of them price that way. Fred is $600 for year one. They will send a price for year two when it approaches. Some companies seem to double the premium at will. Either...

    Where to get a puppy?

While not ideal, you are normally in populated areas so airtags should give you tracking at minimal cost. Fred has a microchip (I'm annoyed that they continue to be proprietary, they should be able to be scanned by any phone) and a tag on his collar with name, phone numbers and address. He...

    Adverse Possession

I blame municipalities for that garbage. Going 100% complaint based for by-law pits neighbours against each other. I understand they don't have unlimited time to investigate but if by-law is in a neighbourhood to deal with a curb cut/parking/shed/fence/etc, at the very least inspect all other...

    Adverse Possession

In the Arbutus corridor in BC, many residents had expanded their rear yards into a rail corridor that was unused. Rail company told people to gtfo. Entitled owners played karen and whined about their gardens and memory areas and sheds. Rail company ran bulldozers through the corridor to clear...

    Adverse Possession

Adverse possession/squatters rights/etc are almost impossible in most of Ontario. When Ontario moved to the Land Titles System (substantially complete around 2000), that locked in property boundaries to those specified in the database. You need to prove that you occupied the land for at least 10...

    F1 Thread!!!

It looks like limiting to <1700 rpm would satisfy the power limit. Weird and boring to drive that way. It would be like a heavy truck where you just ride the torque and shift very often.

Not that long ago, "Halo will obstruct our vision and is dangerous". Now, "Oh look, another surface to attach aero too. These drivers are awesome they can figure out how to drive without being able to see.".

    Hearing test

Any pain? I had an ear infection that spread to the bone. Hearing sucked and I was very unhappy. Thankfully, no sepsis or meningitis so surgery, some good drugs and time and I was back in the game. It took most of a year to get back to close to pre-infection hearing acuity.

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

I would be putting in a poverty fence and saving a fortune. Pound in some posts and use chain link. I suspect this will be used for a few years and then backyard reorganized again.

Has the city lost it's mind...

Private sector unions and public sectors unions are on entirely different levels imo. While a private sector union fights for their members, they realize that there is a limit to how much blood they can draw. Public sector unions have no limit, they know their host can't die and the pool is...

Another toronto councillor trying to take mamdani's ideas to bankrupt the city faster. City run grocery stores with no dc's, no property tax and presumably union employees with pensions. It will be a train wreck...

He may have a nice lakefront place 45 minutes outside of Timmins. He'll sell it to you for the low low price of 600K. That's barely more than a condo.

The Bad Drivers of Ontario Thread

So many questions. Parking while moving fast enough to eject yourself is stunt man level stuff. Part of me wonders if it is sensationalist reporting and he had his door open the pinning happened near the drivers door by a passing vehicle.
