For the most part JB is correct, however you must stop legally. You are allowed to stop in no parking sections but not in a No Stopping zone or beside a fire hydrant, blocking a driveway, etc. This question was explicitly asked and answered when I took my test and the examiner will look for...
MIBagentQ you are a genius. I want exactly that mount for my bike, only catch is I have a Scotts dampener blocking that section. What the heck, I don't need a dampener when the GPS mount is more important.
Thanks, for the pics and write up.
Keep in mind that I haven't done the exit course in a couple years and may have fuzzy memory of the right thing to do;
1) You should keep the bike straight as well but I believe you can move blocking positions to allow you better view of traffic.
2) Your blocking position is too aggressive...
Actually Walmart has one on sale for $64 locally. Don't know if it's hackable yet, but I suspect so, but may be an alternative for those that can't find the Curtis one.

I'm using that skin (don't remember which version) and it's great. Even opens up options I don't remember on the default iGo skin. I'd recommend it above all others but it does have some tiny icons to push on our small screen and if you don't like extraneous functionality it may confuse non...
I find that occassionally after a GPS restart my computer won't recognize the unit. I have to unplug the USB cable and plug it back in after a few seconds gets it going.
Either that or it's switch to either ActiveSync or USB storage mode from the opposite. Boot without the SD card in place...
To keep this motorcycle related, anyone got one mounted on their bike yet? Post installs please.
I'm going to mock it up on my machine and will post if it looks decent.
Actually, you can toggle between ActiveSync and USB storage mode. Let it boot normally (the one with 4 ICON prompt) and select SYSTEM INFORMATION --> THEN USB OPTIONS. There you can check ACTIVESYNC and STORAGE modes. Regular storage mode is actually faster to transfer files then ActiveSync...
I bought 2 as well and no card in either. Some rare buyers are getting the SD card and we suspect it's another version, older version of the Curtis unit. Be careful following the steps posted as they may not apply directly to you.
Suggested steps (keeping in mind I have not seen the SD card)...
As an FYI, for those interested in using this on a bike, I gave iGo some testing with the mind set of using it on my bike. The regular direction screen is pretty small and if I'm riding a quick glance will be difficult to follow. I did find a screen that may be useful.
There is an option...
You do have to load TTS files for it to work. From the previous FTP link download Kate or Susan(?) and install the files it comes with over the SD card defaults.
If all you want is better GPS software (no advance Windows stuff) then pretty much what you said;
- download iGO software, maps and TTS voices (if you want them)
- Unzip and place the above onto your SD card (USB or card reader)
- modify the Shell.ini to point to the GPS software on the SD...
Canadian Tire is clearing out their Curtis GPD358 GPS devices for $47.99. Going fast so look around and grab one while you can.

Small screen, light weight and runs on 12v so you can cut one into your bike battery. I picked up a...
