AWD vs. FWD ... in snow

Just taking the piss. First time I went, there was some pretty exuberant drivers that were gnawing at the chance to rip, I specifically remember a Subie and an S4. they were yawing off the course in the hairpins as it was drifted snow and churned up. They were all able to return to the track...

AWD vs. FWD ... in snow

All you folks sniping at each other should put your money where your mouth is. Meet at TMP in Feb and compare lap times in the snow. I'm game and I'll throw money on it.

AWD vs. FWD ... in snow

Ok, so through VagCom. I was trying to recall if there was a selector switch in the cockpit or something. I have VagCom, used it to lower brake and steering assist on my Jetta, among other things.

AWD vs. FWD ... in snow

Isn't the Subie just an electronic clutch for AWD like most other manufacturers? Hard to top a good ol' Torsen diff.

Interested in Apple TV 4K, who has it?

Saw it at Costco today but it wasn't hooked up to check out and I'm trying to determine if it's something I can get for the missus as an xmas gift since she's pretty well all Apple ecosystem now. Are the movies free or is it all paid subscription based? What other channels do you get that...

    V rod or M 109

One of my mates has a 109r, I have a 14 Night Rod Special. We switch bikes now and then when riding. VROD: Smaller chassis, lower seat height Weighs about 100lbs less Lighter steering and turning, lower COG as fuel tank located under rider Better brakes (Brembo ABS) Less engine vibration...

    Offering advice to new riders

Nice. I've been tempted myself to say something to Ponch and Jon lookalikes, but then again I don't feel like being pulled over for a CPIC inquiry...

Iron 883 one of the most beautiful and also maligned motorcycle

Road King has low 30's lean angle, you won't see 30 degrees of lean on an Iron. 27-ish maybe unless you go to longer rear shocks. The Harley chaps I ride with all came from sportbikes, we've surprised quite a few sportbike guys, especially the WFO on the straights, bicycle-turns in the corners...

    Look at this entitled rider

Not cool, and a good way to lose teeth. If I saw someone do that to my bike it would be an adrenaline-soaked situation.

Anybody in Windsor with not HD bikes?

The Tim's at Dougall/Eugenie has a sportbike gathering some evenings. I see sport bikes all the time in Windsor including Ducati and BMW. River Rd out to Chatham is a decent ride.

Iron 883 one of the most beautiful and also maligned motorcycle

HD Iron is a great bike with unlimited style possibilities. It's a blank canvas that you apply your own identity to. Bobber, cafe, whatever you want. I did 10 hour days on my 1200 Sportster but it took some accessories to do it. Seat, windshield and good handlebar/peg geometry setup.

    Only 174 days until Spring . . .

Took the train to Moncton NB last week then drove to Halifax. Loved the scenery and hospitality. I need to do this on my bike (plus Cape Breton) so that's the plan next year.
