Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

An extension of that game that I have never seen them play yet (but Elon has threatened to a few times) is to list the vehicles at 49,999 and make them lease only. In that world, the MSRP is just a fake number on a page as nobody ever gets to buy one at that price. At the end of the three year...

    Cheap smart phone

If you want the cheapest POS, costco normally has a $100 phone. Pretty terrible camera, really limited storage, etc. For your use, probably just as good as the $200 option.

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

How does Carney profit from your idea? That is the key question that must be answered to understand every policy decision.

    Cheap smart phone

Don't you have an old phone that could fill those roles? No need to buy something new for that. For cooking, I bought my wife a google home max and it was awesome for a while. Jumped straight to recipes without scrolling through 100 pages of ads, didn't go to sleep, etc. Sadly, an update a long...

That was a direct quote from YRP Deputy Chief Ryan Hogan. The best and brightest I tell you. That's why we pay them the big bucks.

Law Enforcement - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.....

Here are different words from the press briefing. Still clear as mud as they didn't use any of the official titles. https://toronto.citynews.ca/2026/02/05/toronto-police-service-officers-arrested-project-south-organized-crime/ "The investigation began in June 2025 when they allege a conspiracy...

    COVID and the housing market

It doesn't but it causes a political headache. For instance, Smart centres owns some fields in Barrie. Technically the fields were rezoned to commercial but smart centres can (and does) apply for a temporary use agriculture bylaw as they are fields and not a commercial site. It is an 82 acre...

    COVID and the housing market

A lot of land is under contract. The developers don't have enough money to buy all the land they want for the future so they make a deal today to ensure they can buy it in the future. This also makes it simpler to keep zoning and taxes at low rates as it is owned and operated by a farmer or...

    TPMS on snow tires?

If all of the tires are close to the same size, abs, stability, etc is essentially unaffected. Obviously major change in tire size can effect speedo and odo. With all of the tires I have had on my car, speedo has varied from gps speed 2% higher than indicated to gps speed being 2% lower than...

    Cheap smart phone

Most phones dropped chargers. Part of government greenwashing to save the environment. I use old phone chargers for cameras. For phones I use multi-port chargers. Now that everything is usb charging, I have no issue with no charger being included.

    COVID and the housing market

Land aggregation takes time and money. I don't know of a future plan for that area but that doesn't mean there isn't one. Things like future transit, future zoning, etc can make today's apparent folly look like tomorrow's goldmine.

The Bad Drivers of Ontario Thread

A gravel hauler lost a wheel on hwy 26 yesterday. The normal list of tickets including no valid cvor. Driver from Brampton. A commenter had a good idea where a failed roadside inspection should trigger an inspection at the home yard. Where there is smoke there is probably fire. I'm not sure of...

    TPMS on snow tires?

On my current car, I have run (iirc) 195/65R15, 215/60R16 and 225/45R17 snows. All Michelin xice. Best bite in the snow by far was the 195s. On dry winter roads, the 225's don't give up nearly as quickly.

The "Official" Watch Thread and all Things Horological

When melt value is higher than full watch value, it's hard to do anything else. Hopefully it is mostly cases/bands getting smelted and the movements/dials/hands live to see another case.
