What's going on with this tire?

I agree with the rocket science part. But some people are oblivious to noticing something wrong (not saying OP, could have been anyone driving the car). Remember this guy?

What's going on with this tire?

To rule out a completely seized caliper, you should be able to just look at the wheel while some else drives up/down your driveway to make sure its spinning.

What's going on with this tire?

I still remember the first time I went on an out of town training course and had to rent a car. I think it was some econobox. Meanwhile one of the other students had a rental Miata and another a minivan, all automatics. One night after calss, we were all in the parking lot about to leave when...

What's going on with this tire?

Alignment should definitely be checked regularly, but even if it was wildly off (like after taking damage) uneven tire wear would be all the way around, not just localized.

What's going on with this tire?

Yeah, but if it's a locked up caliper, he's just going to end up with another tire like that on his way home. That's why I recomended spinning the wheel to rule that out - takes a minute if you can get someone else to drive it while you watch. A good shop should have checked while it was up on...

What's going on with this tire?

That was my first thought until people started talking about a broken belt/bulge. Hard to imagine someone not noticing a tire locked up long enough to wear down to the belts. That said, it would be in OP's best interest to rule that out by making sure the wheel is actually turning on the corner...

What did you do in your garage today..?

I'm guessing at that mileage, not much valve adjustment required? What was going on that's explained by the blockage? Oil leak or something else?

    Hypermotard V2

Remember Loudbike's original "Hyperstrada", which is exactly what they did:

    Hypermotard V2

Depends on the year and model - later Evo models were lighter. I guess Google didn't factor in the change in weight measurement (dry/wet, no fuel), so about 15 lbs lighter than the lightest 1100 (not counting the NCR Leggera): 1100 = 395 dry 1100S = 390 dry 1100 Evo = 379 dry 1100 Evo S = 377 -...

I had played around with the idea of a 10/1198 swap into my 821, but it was worth too much to butcher. Here's Wookie's: https://www.asphaltandrubber.com/bikes/woolie-pikes-peak-hypermotard-deus-ex-machina/

    Hypermotard V2

The 950 is supposedly 30 lb heavier than the original 1100, so the new bike's weight isn't really a game changer from that perspective. The new model brings it back to the original weight, but with only 890 cc, it won't compare to the torque curve of the 1100. Sure, it has the latest technology...

    Hypermotard V2

First thing I noticed was they brought back the original tank shroud design. Base model is 13 kg less than outgoing, and SP is 14 less. Is there a torque curve comparison? Biggest probem with the 2nd gen and newer models is lack of torque (compared to the original). Hate to see them go lower...

    V4R

Does anyone buying a V4R actually expect it to be close to the WSBK platform? Ducati's R models have historically been just a preview of the next generation's standard model motor and S model chassis (basically). I don't know about the newer bikes, but none of the 916-series homolgation street...

    Total bike write off

If in doubt, the definitive answer is a phone call or email away to the insurer. At-fault only means the deductible applies, it doesn't change the value of the vehicle. I've gone through two write-offes personally, and have family and close friends who have as well, and in all cases we were all...

    Total bike write off

YES. Payout always goes by market value plus taxes so you can actually afford to theoretically buy the same vehicle again. You can neogitate the market value if it's lower than what you can show using active ads, Black/Blue book values, or a recent appraisal. When my Odyssey was written off...

    Knowing Better

I've never had 17" sport tires flat spot over the winter. I do store my Ducati on its rear stand for the winter, but that's actually to make space by storing the stand under the bike.

Now if you have carbs, that's a diffrerent story, and why my Hawk is the only non-injected bike in my stable. I'd make one more exception for an oil-cooled GSX-R.

    Knowing Better

Your idea of winterizing is basically the same as mine - do nothing out of the ordinary. The only difference I see is the use of fuel stabilizer, which in my experience with fuel injected motors (both cars and bikes) makes no difference for such short term storage. My M3 was last filled up in...
