It's cuz of you that I have this bike. I was thinking about buying fancier bikes with tech and you suggested to give this old girl a look and when I started reading more about it, it sounded like the right bike for me. Honestly - it's so awesome and does everything I need out of a bike.
I rode through Wakefield and thought I saw a big one there or one of the towns nearby, but it was off the main road and I couldn't figure out how to get to it. If I wasn't trying to get back to the camp site to pack up, I would have tolled around to see which sideroad would take me there.
Thanks and 've honestly never paid any attention to them until this trip:)
I really liked riding in Vermont too. That's a good excuse to go for a ride back to the northeastern states one day.
Your description was spot on. The 307 was tons of fun and one of the more twisty roads I've been on on in Quebec. Amazing that it's so close to us. The 366 was a nice road too and I was surprised it was gravel and not paved for that stretch - it was pretty busy and all the vegetation at the side...
I was looking for a place for a few nights and use that spot as a base camp from which to explore. I had up to a week to go riding, but then at the last minute, the 2 guys I was going to go with had to back out due to last minute work and family stuff.
As I called and checked online for camping...
Sounds like a good few days.
Tomorrow morning I'm heading up to Wilno area for the next couple days of some solo motocamping too. And hopefully heading over to Mont Laurier for a day trip too
Congrats on the bike!
It’s one of the only Honda’s I would own and have been secretly lusting for one of those bikes for years.
Very beautiful bike and good luck with the tank.
My very first bike ride longer than a day trip, was a 10 day, solo motocamping trip down to Alabama/Mississippi to stay at the Barber Museum for the Vintage bike fest. Asides from booking my tent spot at Barber Museum, almost the entire trip was sorted out in the 2 weeks before I left.
For my...
They have some mixed styles of Olympia jackets but nothing Joe Rocket that I see and also don’t see any heated gear whatsoever and asked the desk and they said they don’t sell heated gear.
Found 2 nice helmets for my wife and both fit her - Scorpion EXO ST1400 Carbon and an HJC I91 modular.
I thought the roads going in and out of that park were really nice, especially on the western side.
I also thought the park was much better going east to west than vice versa… and we were moving at a very good clip:)
But overall, I agree - max 3 days of riding that way.
The guy I’m going with...
I’m doing this very same thing next week with a buddy.
Currently looking at setting up camp between Barry’s Bay and Pembroke, since that can allow us to explore that region a bit and also easily scoot into Quebec.
Another area that has nice roads is near La Mauricie National Park, but not sure...
Thanks guys and what a great day to be riding.
If anything I would get a new helmet for my wife and she's a small or XS. Looking at getting her a GT Air or a Neotec.
I'm down!
And even though the rain screwed the burger night tonight (and I was riding home from work in the storm), when I got home, someone on FB was selling some sweet speakers for a steal of a deal and I grabbed them. If I was stuffing my face with burgers, I wouldn't have scored this tonight:)
