That's quite a huge jump from 250 to 1000+, especially after only 1 season of only weekends. I went from a CB450 to a Ninja zx6, and for the first couple months, it was pretty scary. The amount of instant power available is a bit overwhelming.
I would vote for the HP4. I like the look, and...
Ashley from Sturgess Cycle suggested these to me. I'm not a fan of the colour combo, but the do look pretty comfortable.

I've noticed in a few vids that their productions values, especially sound, is sub-par. The reviewer's voice is overwhelmed by the music or traffic sounds. It seems they shoot with just the camera's on-board mic and then add loads of music post filming.
May be better to wait, in the cold things can go bad so much faster. Plus, its VERY hard to just ride for only a little bit.
If you do go, what temp are your tires rated to? Will you have full gear? Are ALL parts of the parking lot ice free?
That made me laugh and tear up at the same time..soo many lost pencils..
OP, there's no chance one of her friends grabbed it accidentally? People do make mistakes and grab what looks like theirs if they're in a rush..:dontknow:
The second was NOT a link to read just before bed. I have many threads I want to read more of and I work in 7 hours lol. Tomorrow night will be spent studying those.
That's sort of the plan. I have a 3L Camelbak and electrolyte tablets. The Camelbak is awesome half filled with ice.
I've talked to a few family members and read up, and yeah, I think I may need to shave off a couple thousand km.
This actually worries me most about everything. I hope I'm not...
Either day will be tricky. Depending on how much experience you have in the cold, I would say go as early as you can today. In my books, clear cold weather wins over wet, potentially icy ground.
Remember that you will have ALOT less grip, the ground will be very cold. My first time riding sub...
Makes sense on doing a few test days in the months before, I hope I'll be able to walk after the first one.
I was sort of expecting only to do part of it with you, like you said, you have a lot longer time and alot more planned stops.
Honestly, most of the reason was because of MacDoc's thread and route :p. The Grand Canyon is going to be the major destination for me and I wanted to take a different route home, and his looked like a good path. I have traveled VERY little outside of the GTA in my 30 years, and I have alot of...
I'll start off with the route that I'm planning.

This will be my first tour, major or otherwise. I'm shooting to go late May, early June.
I have a 2000 Kawasaki ZX6E that I'm going to use for it. I'm planning on doing a few bigger maintenance things in the months...
I had a similar situation with my ZX6E also with Statefarm.
I got rear-ended at a stop sign, bike went down on its left side and cracked a 2 pieces of my fairing and scratched some more. Was going to be a little over 3000 to fix. The shop it was taken to looked at everything, ie) my pegs were...
I did that last year with a Tourmaster 2pc rain suit and either a cashmere or a cable knit wool sweater. Only time I wasn't riding was with snow on the ground.
Gloves were the biggest issue I had at negative temps. I was using Joe Rocket Nitrogens, waterproof and comfortable, but not the...
