It's a disaster for all involved. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/london/sireg-tenants-9.7361430 On the topic of state of repair and management: "Patrick D’Sa owns two condos in two SIREG-run buildings in the 700-block of Kipps Lane in London. D'Sa, who lives in Toronto, visited the units he...

It's getting worse quickly. PM firm pilfered the condo reserve funds illegally. Best case is investors own slums requiring immediate expensive repairs. Worst-case is investors own nothing other than an unsecured claim against a bankrupt company...

    Electric Dirt Bikes?

I don't know if you can get insurance on the emotos. Insurance is required for Simcoe forests/SCORRA trails. Some people in the neighbourhood have gas and electric dirtbikes. I think they just ride dirty on the electric bikes. They are damn quiet so unless you run over someone, you won't piss...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Before I looked at the link, I was anticipating a U-ground receptacle with 240V on it to smoke unsuspecting users. I don't have circuits with a single plug in my garage. It would be easier for me to add a new circuit than to convert and entire circuit to 240 (or abandon some receptacles).

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

I guess being a big brick doesn't help. 23kwh at 1.44kwh/h is close to 16 hours (and it may slow down at the end). Even 16 hours isn't horrendous. You're not normally coming home completely empty and you have 12 hours of cheap power each day. Unless I had a very specific use case, I probably...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Level 1 for PHEV should be entirely adequate for the mast majority of the people. From empty should be less than 8 hours. Even if the battery was not charged, you have the ICE to give you unlimited range. Neighbours got one and like it.

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

While financially I agree entirely with BP, sometimes people do things that aren't the best financial path. Keeping your car for 15 years isn't remotely the same as people that flip cars every couple years. You've got a defined benfit pension, buy something that makes you happy. With your...

I see what you did there.

They could be fine. Their vehicles seem to work elsewhere. I suspect that the prices you are seeing now will not be remotely close to price in Canada. They don't need to undercut by 50% when 10% gets them most of the buyers.

I'd rather pay $300 to fill up than want to punch myself every time I walked out to my douchemobile. If I wanted an electric truck, lightning seems to be the way to go. GM truck might be ok but I see very few in the wild.

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

I didn't put in the stupid system. Based on the behaviour when blowing it out, some of the runs have low spots. Also has one drip zone that is at/just below the surface and wavy so it has a number of low spots. Some years I don't bother flooding it. I also need to blow out the outside bathroom...

    Let's Laugh at my Expense!

For the winter, turn the fuel off and run the bike until it dies to get most of the fuel out of the carbs. When you want to ride, turn it on, wait a minute, then start it. Normally much happier than having old gas in carbs.

That's a nice legible watch. I prefer Type B pilot watches and that is similar to a type A but that is a minor niggle. Polywatch could probably clean up the crystal. It will cost 50% of what you paid for watch though.

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Trying to blow out sprinklers. Second air compressor to speed up recharge that I plug in near front door didn't want to work. 100V at that receptacle. That's not good. The receptacle 5' away upsteam with gfci has 127V. Plug compressor into happy plug and get job done. Pull sad plug and it's...

    Did you exercise today?

It came with a swinging hook that apparently quiets noise. Kids hit it a couple times while I was above and it didn't seem bad but I could hear it. I paid less for the bag plus hanger than the hanger costs...

    Did you exercise today?

A couple weeks ago I found a heavy bag at a yard sale a few blocks away for a good price. Getting that bastard home was a good workout. Hardest part was getting it onto my shoulder. Hung it in the basement today.

I've got this one. I like it but I could part with it. I have no idea on value. It's a 552 rss. Also found another in the stash. 17 jewel gruen movement. Caliber is not stamped where I can see it.

I don't like it but that doesn't matter. If you like it, that's what matters. Upside is its automatic (4r movements feel much nicer than the 7s that was in most of the seiko 5's) , downsides for me are busy face (open heartbeat is nice but the rest of the cutouts I don't like as they make it...
