What did you do in your garage today..?

Oil drain bolts on my Hondas of the last 25 years have been 23 foot pounds(275 inch pounds). 31 inch pounds is barely finger tight. It probably meant 31 foot pounds but that’s getting a little high.

Where was the apartment building? Maybe we can track them down. Chances are you’ll be very disappointed.

There use to be some great shows at the Ontario Place Forum that you could see for next to nothing, gotta love that revolving stage. Those were the days.

    Teenage Head Riot Anniversary

This week is the 45th anniversary of the infamous Teenage Head Riot at Ontario Place in 1980. Any other survivors out there? Maybe we could start a support group. Man, I’m starting to feel old.

    25'th Anniversary....and no plans. :(

If you don’t have a problem with the States, a weekend in Boston would be at the top of my list for a weekend getaway. Porter does weekend packages including hotel that fly out of the island airport. You can’t take the GO Train with your carry-on luggage to Union Station and take a shuttle to the...

    25'th Anniversary....and no plans. :(

I stayed at the Banff Springs Hotel about 3 years ago, probably the nicest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Didn’t think much of the town, it’s just become another tourist trap so I basically spent 3 days without leaving the hotel. Really nice place if you can afford it. I wouldn’t rule out a night or...

$60 Wheel Balancer at Princess Auto

Some people question whether static balancing is “good enough” all I can say is that I use to go to the AMA Superbike races at Mid-Ohio and Dunlop Tires had a big tent where they installed and balanced every tire on a simple stand like the one Princess Auto sells. Those super bikes were hitting...

$60 Wheel Balancer at Princess Auto

I always do just because it’s off the bike anyway and only takes a few minutes. I think some guys will balance the rear wheel with the sprocket on, I haven’t done that in recent memory though.

Motorcycle mistakes you only make once... and ones you make all the time...

Biggest mistake I ever made was getting on the gas with a brand new set of tires. I had changed the tires on my ST1300 for an upcoming trip to New Orleans . Normally I would have taken it straight out onto the road and scrubbed them in but for whatever reason I didn’t. A week later I loaded up...

$60 Wheel Balancer at Princess Auto

Yes, I think the bearings on those are really good but I think you would still want a solid level stand to set that on to balance a wheel properly.

$60 Wheel Balancer at Princess Auto

If you’ve got a more exotic single sided swingarm NoMar sells a rod with larger cones that will work on that stand. That’s what I used on my VFR and ST1300.

How do I clean melted pants off exhaust

I had a buddy I worked with that bought a brand new Honda 550 in I think 1974. He told me he was riding it home from the dealership along Eglinton and a big plastic bag blew in front of him and ended up melting all over the front of his bike on the chrome exhaust pipes. He had the bike for a...

    Rabaconda tire changer

If we do it at my place, the wife and I could work out a package deal- new tires and a divorce in one trip, you get to keep both tires.

    Rabaconda tire changer

Agreed, that’s why I put that clause in.

    Rabaconda tire changer

Someone with a garage could maybe start a co-op, everyone chips in $50-$100 for a NoMar plus consumables and gets to use it. Great way to meet people on the forum. I can get my wife/lawyer to draw up the liability waiver.
