9½ Reasons Motorcycle Shops Are Closing That Have Nothing To Do With Sales

Back then I lived around Don Mills/401. Did you ever deal with Pitshop Cycle? They were a small Suzuki/Ducati shop on the N side of Kingston Rd. east of Morningside? I recall.. that`s long ago. They were family run too, man so many memories. I`ve always kept moving north and east, well out of...

9½ Reasons Motorcycle Shops Are Closing That Have Nothing To Do With Sales

I was around there a lot about the time you bought your 750, I got parts there for my `78 GS1000. Earlier this week I was in Lindsay Cycle speaking with the parts guy Gary. He worked at Sonic too, knows the biz inside out. The kinda` guy the video mentions, not a lot left in the business.

9½ Reasons Motorcycle Shops Are Closing That Have Nothing To Do With Sales

I worked with a guy who must have had, seriously, over 100 Harley T shirts from dealers all over N. America. And he had never owned a motorcycle or even ridden one.

9½ Reasons Motorcycle Shops Are Closing That Have Nothing To Do With Sales

That sure sounds like the decline we are witnessing with everything in disarray and decay. Everything must pass, I suppose.

Lots of pieces in the puzzle for sure. After watching that it`s just like everything else, it`s always about the money from every angle you look at it.

Country Living (septic, well water, etc.) ... who's done it?

All solid advice. Not sure how long the OP`s driveway would be but I`ve lived in Barrie and now Kawartha Lakes, seen some heavy snowfalls. A powerful ATV with a plow should do it unless it`s 200 feet long. Probably tractor/plow time then.

    Blackbridge Harley

I`ve been looking at a new Low Rider ST for a couple years. The money is there, I`m extremely fortunate, but I just can`t pull the trigger. Thirty grand plus every dealership dep`t wants to take a swing at you before you leave. If you want to finance, H-D Financial is 10 to 11% plus, Insurance...

There seems to be a lot of public support for the shooter. I hope some big bucks lawyer defends him pro bono.

    Local Auto Thefts

What`s it going to take to change things in this clown world Canada? Some crew of criminal vermin to do a Manson crew/Tate, et al thing on a politicians family? Were those guys after the Lambo staging for a full on home invasion, would you roll the dice saying no? Holy Funk!..wake up Canada...

    Local Auto Thefts

Sadly true. We have a useless system of clueless judges, boneheaded laws, possibility of minutes on hold 911 calls and an overworked, stressed Police force. Four dirtbags lying dead on the drive, full of bullets would be the proper end to that event. Just a failed B&E should be game on. Once...

    Aching Shoulders

Just another thought...In the June issue of Motorcycle Mojo there is a 4 page article titled Highway Healing. All about max comfort on the bike, it may be helpful.

    Reverse mortgage...redux

How`s that go?..... Oh yeah! The best government is a benevolent dictatorship tempered by an occasional assassination. You know, to keep them in line.

    Reverse mortgage...redux

I`d see that move as political suicide, not that a technocratic dictator cares though. He is a sneaky, lying bastard, let`s hope not.

    Aching Shoulders

Be careful with Celebrex. That was the last of a series of NSAID`s I took daily for over a decade, I had a very physical job and couldn`t function without it. I began with Vioxx then Bextra, then Celebrex. I`m certain they are responsible for my endless stomach issues. The first two were pulled...

    Aching Shoulders

Just a thought....how, possibly unknown, tensed up are you on the bike? Shoulders relaxed and down, not up toward your helmet. Keep your jaw and face relaxed too? If that`s on your `Strom that dirt bike rider triangle is about as good as it gets.

    Reverse mortgage...redux

I`ll need to speak with my planner to clear or confirm some HELOC questions. Is it correct that if I took a HELOC for 100 grand and spent it all over 10 years, making interest payments only during that timeframe, the principal could be paid back in entirety when I sell the home, or my...

    Reverse mortgage...redux

The CHIP rate is 7.29%, the HELOC is 5.49%. That`s a substantial difference, about 83 grand on a loan of 176K over 10 years. That is 20 grand upfront and a monthly payment of 1300 bucks for 10 years. The CHIP thing is no monthly repayments, P&I, until you move or die. If I`m dead, so what, my...
