Curious, what experience is that? I did and still work for CP and I've seen first hand how lazy they are about delivering items, they 'assume' you are not home so why bother. This goes double for C.O.D. items, they will scan it as 'attempted' and then maybe deliver the slip, this is when they...

Mmmmmmm... I suspect what happened here was that it was attempted the day before and then brought to retail post office for pickup but the slip was not left on that day. So the postie was going to deliver 'the slip' on this attempt. No other real reason why it would not be in the truck, since...

They have them. Almost practically no one uses them. You are required to bring it with you everywhere. Most routes have too many stairs/walk through apartments or ridiculous inclines to make it viable. Being caught without it next to you is an instant interview (write up).

Currently CP is paid the least upfront out of all the courier services..but they make it back (imo) on the pension side.
