Nice - there's some pretty sweet Lindens. So do you know the botanical (Latin) name for it then?

What type of grass seed did you put down and where did you get it? If you have never done a soil sedimentation test, that's a cool thing to show your young kids. Something like the attached pdf, but I prefer to wait longer than 24 hours for the clay to settle, since those particles are so fine...

Just so I have this right... You are digging up a neighbours tree and planting it at the cottage, but you don't know what type of tree it is? :)

The attached file which I put together in a past life has a bunch of common turf weeds. Page 14 can help you better identify if it is crabgrass.

    North shore of Lake Superior

That was my experience of the northern section of the 129 too - very straight and tall trees on the sides ,so not much of a view either. That trading post store was just north of the 554 intersection here: Tunnel Lake Trading Post & Motel · 6274 ON-129, Thessalon, ON P0R 1L0

    Summer Solstice 2025

Not sure I would want to do this on a naked bike. This will be an intense day and that wind will be really tiring after 10-12 hours. You have a small windscreen for that thing?

    North shore of Lake Superior

That's correct. The section between Thessalon and Aubrey Falls is the best. From Aubrey Falls to Chapleau, I had a tough time staying awake. To the OP, if you have the time, go further than Thunder Bay and ride over to Fort Frances and up towards Kenora. Then over to Dryden and down to Atikokan...

    Summer Solstice 2025

Yup as mentioned - just no time for a longer sit down lunch. Let's all bring our own food and take breaks every couple hours at scenic spots for a quick rest and recharge.

    Summer Solstice 2025

Definitely going counterclockwise as the route suggests. I find it nice to ride into the sunrise and not be riding into the setting sun after a long day of twisties. Waypoint 29: Hwy 518 is so nice it's worth doing twice. But then I read my ride report from last year and noticed I didn't go...

I looked but I couldn’t find the pic of the oil change he did at the side of the road. Must be buried deep the archive bowels of GTAM.

    Summer Solstice 2025

Sounds good. Right now the summer solstice falls on Saturday June 21, but normally I try to do a ride like this on a weekday when there's less traffic on the cottage country roads. So currently thinking about doing this on the Friday June 20th. I'm coming from Mississauga and usually start...

These are well used and I don't want them anymore. They aren't waterproof and would be perfect for a rider on a budget to stop wearing running shoes. I think they are size 43, or around a 10. Pick-up only in Mississauga near 403/Winston Churchill

    Anyone into gardening here?

Short answer is that it depends on what types of plants you are planting outside now and what their cold tolerance is. Good Luck!
