    Mortgage rates

Money??? I'm 63 and retired 6 years ago. The Squeeze and I were frugal but managed to enjoy ourselves (there's always been more than one bike in the garage). A buddy one year younger than me who has always made decent money (millright) and seemed to spend it stopped by not long ago. When we...

    Mortgage rates

At first I was like WOW nine bikes. Then I stopped and took a count. I'm at 8 (9 if you count the moped hanging from the ceiling -I don't) and a sled. I call it garage Tetris.

What did you do in your garage today..?

There's a new battery for the killer sitting on the bench. Old battery was 5 years. It shared a battery tender with 2 other bikes. Never had a blip. About a week ago I'm out riding. Made a couple stops everything fine. Make another stop and 15 minutes later the neutral light won't even...

    Trailer question

Thanks all. So the ramp is a double edged sword. I think the dirt bikes will climb it fine but not my street bikes. The DragWing not evenly remotely close. I have a nice pair of folding aluminum ramps and I wouldn't be adverse to taking the sawzall to ramp and cutting it down. Looks like the...

    Trailer question

So this is the trailer I want to buy. Yes it's cheesy but it also weighs under 400lb. This is key both for my small car (Toyota Matrix) and that the trailer sometimes live at the bottom of a small incline in my back yard. Between the upright ramp and the front rail is 7.5 feet. The front rail...

    Cleaning/polishing engine case

Exactly what Brian P. says. You can do most of it with the cover on but it's more work. Probably about on par with getting the cover off and back on without it leaking oil. Got a new gasket? That coating is a bugger to get off. I've heard of but havn't tried using Easy Off oven cleaner...

What's the one thing you always forget or wish you'd brought on long trip on 2 wheels?

One guy we ride with seems to know all the great swimming holes. That said we'd just strip to our gitch and head in.

I like the garbage liner idea. "the best plan is the simplest one that works"

What's the one thing you always forget or wish you'd brought on long trip on 2 wheels?

Agreed. I like to roll the cuff down over my eyes to block out light and let me sleep a bit later.

What size of bike for 2 up ?

I had to buy some too - after I bought a replacement rear hub. I didn't know about the special grease and cooked it.

What size of bike for 2 up ?

Pretty much the same can be said of older Gold Wings. The 4 cylinders are stupid cheap.

    Oil extractor

Exactly. I think the only time I changed it was when the mower went under water during a backyard flood.

What size of bike for 2 up ?

Yes exactly. Any bike that won't haul your *** in top gear needs to be replaced.

What size of bike for 2 up ?

Because it's a horrible idea. If a bike doesn't have the nuts to pull you in top gear what is the point.

    Anyone used Bruce&Shark?

Yeah for $30 you just know it's of the highest quality. I cleaned the orig and now it's working fine. It was very easy to get apart and clean. No bits of spring loaded brass to look for.

What did you do in your garage today..?

As long as the bottom of the engine is relativly flat you can lift on it. I generally place a piece of plywood between motor and jack.

    Any fish /pond people??

I think here in town I needed a fence if it was more than 18" deep. Then it's the same as a pool. That said the town is full of non fenced water retention ponds. Go figure.
