Motorcycle and Parts Shipping

Hello all.

I don't post here that often since we moved but, I just bought a couple of RD350LC Yamaha's and a few totes of parts from an estate sale in Peterborough. I need to have them shipped to the US. Any recommendations? I have used TFX before but their prices seem to have gone up significantly. I was quite shocked

My other option is that my Mother in Law is having surgery in August and my wife will be be coming up to Stouffville to look after her for a few weeks. Thinking about maybe just driving her up with the trailer and hauling them back. Make a bit of a road trip out of it. It would also be good to go to the CSBK round and the VRRA Vintage Festival at Mosport while I'm so close

Thanks for looking

I'm in the process of doing this right now.

I put up a request on uShip, but my main issues were:

- requesting an enclosed trailer
- living in the middle of nowhere

Only one response to the request and their quote came in 20% over TFX, so I went with the established company instead. Larger companies have the advantage of having regularly scheduled corporate runs on established routes that are continuously operating that they can easily piggyback retail shipments on.

Hopefully it works out. 🤞

If you're okay with an open trailer and you ship to and from a major city centre close to the highways, you may have better luck with uShip.

My advise would be to import the bikes and parts yourself.
Be sure to have all paperwork like bill of sale and ownership's with you also take some of the time that you have to research what US customs will require from you as well as the applicable duty rates for intact motorcycles as well as motorcycle parts and have a copy of this ready on your device.
Seems daunting but it isn't that much of a ordeal if you are properly prepared, I've done a couple coming into Canada and it was not that much of a hassle.

I miss my RD350LC..........

Thanks All. I did put a request on uship as Gene suggested. I'll see what comes back.

Its a 3 day leisurely drive and the savings on 2 flights, car rental in Toronto and the bike Shipping company we would very easily come out ahead. My trailer is only a 6x10 and is less than 6 feet tall so its quite easy to tow.
