    2004 Yamaha fz6 - throttle issue

Great eye! I don't think I checked the "frame" section. I was also searching the diagrams with the engine and intake. Never thought it would be considered a "frame" piece.

I think you would need to remove the intake box in order to see the mat. Lifting the tank wouldn't be enough clearance to see it.

    2004 Yamaha fz6 - throttle issue

No, but when I check eBay, I see the mat for sale. But of course, I can't seem to find a part number to find it in a parts diagram. The hardest part was just figuring out how to take the intake tubes off without having the brass collars go missing. The key was not unscrewing it all the way, just...

My factory manual is in my documents folder on my desktop. I will look up the rubber mat thing and snip a little picture here.

    2004 Yamaha fz6 - throttle issue

Yep, but doing a valve clearance and timing chain job is too intimidating for my skill set. Give me a $200 bike and I'll try it. But don't have high hopes of it being successful. Lol

My faith rests with the Japanese engineers who designed that rub mat. It's there for a purpose. Possibly to shed water away from the engine/intake. I don't know if it's a known issue. As far as I know, I'm the only one who it happened to.

    Let's Laugh at my Expense!

When I was 17, I was driving to school in my 1996 Chevy Cavalier. I knew I was about to run out of gas, but I didn't want to stop and be late for school. Just as I turned into the gas station, the car died and I coasted right to a pump. Filled up for $40 (those were the days...) and went to my...

Yep. Dent on the frame. Can't be put on the road unless it gets fixed/replaced.

Service Ontario - Bike Registration Question

When I got my Fz6, my friend gave it to me for free, (not for $1500). I went to MTO and asked to register it in my name. They asked me for a value. I said I didn't know. They said what is the bike worth, I said it's worth $0 to me. I paid tax on $0.01. Told my friend they may send him a letter...

I'm glad you enjoyed the ride. I'll be honest, I wish it never happened. I missed my hockey teams BBQ because of it. Lol. But I'm glad we were able to figure it out, collectively... Great team effort.

It was just improperly installed after my valve clearance job. I tucked it in where I believe it belongs. I don't think it will be able to pop out again.

I did tuck that left side in better... Off camera. Yeah, I invited my neighbor to watch me work on it and chat. I'm glad he pointed it out as soon as we took the airbox off. Thank you to everyone who followed along in the thread and offered suggestions and encouragement. Glad it wasn't too...

Here is the moment my neighbour and I figured it out. I was live streaming to Twitch and of course the stream skipped right at the moment we figured it out. lol. https://www.twitch.tv/mrcrayon87/clip/AffluentStylishTubersBCouch-5XqJ1ge3gZOVFjIy

So if I want to reduce the wobble, replace the bushings? I wonder how difficult it is too press them out.

Okay. Airbox will be coming off next and I'll take a look at the idle stop screw, that would be on the wheel with the throttle cables, yeah?
