    Quiet helmet recommendations?

I had a Shark Evoline, and just upgraded to a Shoei Neotec. The Shoei is far quieter. I have a short commute every day so I don't bother, but if I'm riding for more than 1/2 an hour I use hearing protection.

    Helmets when you're not riding.

I deal with a small credit union in St. Catharines. They have electric buzzers on the front door, and a sign that reads along the lines of "If we can't see your face we can't let you in". The sign has pictures of a full face helmet and baseball caps on it.

Tank slapper - again... getting pretty ****** off now..

Glad you figured out the bikes problem. How is the chain being really loose an indication that the front suspension was tampered with??

+1 Riding in rain is a learning experience. All steel (manhole covers, etc.) and painted lines will be very slippery.

    Goretex boots really worth it?

I had a pair of the A* ridge boots. The velcro died after about three years of commuting, but a $12 fix a a boot store got another year and a half out of them. When they were completly done, I moved up to the A* webgortex boot. I'll likely replace the gortex boots with the same once they're worn...

Question for Scala users! Voice Dial issue.

Every parent giving their 11 year-old a cell phone skewing the statistics? I started searching google for details on those stats, and stumbled upon a screen capture of an ABC news story mentioning that Bill Cosby was killed in a fiery crash while he was texting. Cosby ain't dead, so the...

    Which crash bar?

I don't think GIVI has a superior design on the crash bars, as I've tried had both brands on my bike. I threw away the GIVI crash bars after the SW replacements were installed!! I have a GIVI E52 topcase and E32 panniers on my bike. I have an SW topcase mount, and it's great. I have GIVI...

    Gas Tank Sizes

My tank is 22 litres, good for around 400 km of highway riding, 300-350 of day to day riding (commuting, etc.). Small gas tanks are an excuse to stretch the legs more!

First 1000km service ... and a real shock

What's the owners manual say? Valves at 1,000 km sounds very fishy.... First service usually oil, filter, lube all the misc. stuff, and check over that nothing serious has come loose. Valve clearances are usually at +20,000 kms!
