    CVMG Paris Rally

I love all motorcycles but my main interests are late 70’s early 80’s Japanese sport bikes/super bikes.

    CVMG Paris Rally

I’ve always wanted to go to that. I’m in the north Whitby area, so probably about 2 hours away. Is it worth the trip? Which is the best day to be there?

    D-Day

One of the most heartbreaking things I’ve ever experienced was standing and looking at the American cemetery at Omaha Beach. Over 10,000 pristine white crosses in perfectly spaced rows on a perfectly manicured lawn, each one representing a son, a brother, a friend, a father, a partner. It...

Yes but it would have been more effective during the invasion. Once they were settled in resistance was futile. That cafe where the Germans are sitting still exists, I was there about 8 years ago. I can verify that those Germans have left.

    D-Day

When I was a kid in 1972 I did a tour of Mauthausen Concentration Camp in Austria, absolutely horrific. Fast forward a couple of decades and I had been working for a very successful Hungarian Jewish man for over 25 years . I use to work at his house quite often. We would occasionally chat, I...

Absolutely, the countryside in Normandy is beautiful. They know how to eat there, cream on everything. Not like the cream here, it’s very sweet, they must feed their cows chocolate. Language can be a problem there though. Most people anywhere in Europe speak English but not so in France, I think...

I think there’s one of those that flies out of the Hamilton Airport, I’ve seen it over my house in Brooklin. I think it may land at the Oshawa Airport occasionally.

    D-Day

I was at the 70th Anniversary of D Day on a tour of Normandy organized by Canadian author Ted Barris. Got to meet Steven Harper at the Canadian cemetery. Also got to go in the house you see in this clip when the ramp drops on the landing craft, the current owners open it to the public every June...

    Aching Shoulders

Hate to say it but it may be an age thing. I’ve lived and breathed motorcycles since I was 9 years old. When I hit 50 my knees and hips started to bother me when I rode and only when I rode. An aftermarket saddle like Sargent and popping a few Advils definitely helped. Unfortunately the pain got...

    Rabaconda tire changer

I think he means put just the wheel on a balancer, find the heavy spot (usually where the valve stem is but not always) , mount your tire with the dot at this heavy spot then balance with weights. Putting the dot(or whatever) at the valve stem assumes that it is the heaviest spot on the rim...

    Rabaconda tire changer

Michelins are noticeably softer than their equivalent counterparts and therefore easier to get on and off. I’ve also heard that they have the highest quality control of most major tire manufacturers. They tend to balance with fewer weights and are also closer to being perfectly round. Apparently...

What did you do in your garage today..?

What did you do in your garage today..?

Oil drain bolts on my Hondas of the last 25 years have been 23 foot pounds(275 inch pounds). 31 inch pounds is barely finger tight. It probably meant 31 foot pounds but that’s getting a little high.

    Teenage Head Riot Anniversary

This week is the 45th anniversary of the infamous Teenage Head Riot at Ontario Place in 1980. Any other survivors out there? Maybe we could start a support group. Man, I’m starting to feel old.
