Got a chance to ride at a private track!!!

Nice! That place had just opened when we were in BC, but most Vancouver guys were still going to the Ridge because it's actually slightly closer than driving to Oliver. The WMRC races at Mission, but I know a few of those guys would do an early season weekend at Area 27 as a shakedown for the...

I guess the chopped cafe racer thing is officially dead, eh?

I'd be infinitely more interested in that than the King of the Baggers series!

    High speed trains

Rome is unique. It's hard to find a city more densely packed with history, and it's nut just new finds that slow things down. Much of that line is being built immediately adjacent to the Colosseum and Forum, so there's the dual challenges of both protecting what's already there as well as...

I guess the chopped cafe racer thing is officially dead, eh?

Definitely a different crowd. These seem mostly to be homebrew, and the build quality is often equivalently junk. The whole DIY aesthetic was a big part of the appeal, while the chopper craze was often to pay someone else to assemble an unrideable piece of junk for you from catalog parts. It's...

I guess the chopped cafe racer thing is officially dead, eh?

Capped at 10, but I for sh*ts and giggles I opened the FB Marketplace 'Motorcycles' page instead of searching for something specific, and there are dozens and dozens of these things, most either sitting or heavily reduced.

    High speed trains

Sure, but land cost (soft costs per that paper) is hardly unique to Canada. It's not like real estate in central Milan is cheap. They're just much better at a) telling the complainers to eff off, allowing for more cost effective routes and much cheaper tunneling options, and b) reusing/sharing...

    High speed trains

The inability for English-speaking countries to build cost-effective railways is well documented. For a variety of reasons, we collectively can't get it done, and seem to be uniquely terrible at delivering large projects for a reasonable cost generally. There'a an interesting paper that delves...

What is your Budget for a Bargain Find?

I will say, I think Honda build quality from that era is probably the best of any manufacturer at any time. Absolutely top-notch. I think of all the ham-fisted wrenching I did on my Hawk GT, and the fasteners all looked like new. And that gas makes me want to tell someone to drink more water...

Have a feeling a full carb disassembly plus ultrasonic cleaning might be in your future... Good thing the bike is cool enough to justify the headache...

    Where's the ignore button?

Yep. Hate to do it, but had to use it for the second time here. Has massively improved things.

Everybody Give Me Wrong Battery, Even When I Give Them My Ownership

In defense of the OP, I've bought more than a dozen replacement batteries over the years. Never once have I actually dragged the old one in. I just write down the numbers on the one I have, find the equivalent, and go from there. In this case, per my post above, it seems there is some bad info...

    Blocked IPs?

I'm on Cogeco at home FWIW. Not sure if the office is Bell, but both wifi networks had an identical issue.

What did you do in your garage today..?

I did, and while there's plenty of cheaper options (around $90), I already knew the one I was looking at was decent, having watched a few YouTube reviews. I've seen a super cheap one from Aliexpress, and the display was incredibly laggy and junky. For the extra $70, plus the massively more...

What did you do in your garage today..?

It is specific for motorcycles, only comes with a clamp-on bar mount. If you have clip-ons, you may need to get creative. It's also IP67 waterproof (one of the bar buttons turns off the touchscreen for when it's raining) and has a light sensor so it automatically adjusts the brightness based on...

What did you do in your garage today..?

Installed an Android Auto / CarPlay display unit recently, picked up for cheap off of Amazon. It's another alphabet soup Chinese company, Lamtto in this case, but I picked it up on the recommendation of someone on Reddit. It's dirt cheap, though I paid $140 and I see it's gone up to $170 since...

The Reasonably Priced Used Motorcycles for Sale Thread

Good price, but these are generally dirt cheap. They did slightly improve tank range in 2012 with a few minor changes (including lowering the reserve amount, which was quite conservative), but those are almost impossible to find for some reason. I've seen many 2010's, but never a 2012. Probably...

What is your Budget for a Bargain Find?

Looks beautifully stock, including signals, rear fender, and exhaust. Those horrible bar-ends gotta go, though. Sister to the Hawk GT I once had. Most of the many 'upgrades' I did were a total waste of time, but the Race Tech cartridge emulators and replacement shock were worth every penny...

Everybody Give Me Wrong Battery, Even When I Give Them My Ownership

Got it from here: Kawasaki Replacement Battery Chart Edit: Looks like the main difference is the 14 is 15mm taller than the 12B. Lines up with the OP complaint.

Everybody Give Me Wrong Battery, Even When I Give Them My Ownership

Since pretty much every Japanese manufacturer uses Yuasa as their OEM battery, I always go off that then find an equivalent: Looks like a YTX14-BS or equivalent (assume TX14 in the Energizer chart above?) fits all ER-6 models...
