This. The near north. If you draw a line from Parry Sound to Ottawa it will pass thru more good roads than you can likely ride in a week.
That said it's "cottage country" so accommodations may be more expensive. (We usually rough/vagrant camp)
For that trip you don't need much more than your...
As a guy who is looking at Burgman's in the hopes of 2 up touring again I get the point. Maybe it's good idea but the execution is horrid.
I would think your set up would be a much better off road performer than that thing.
Change the blue and yellow leads. Then switch the wires at the plugs 2-4 and 1-3. The right hand coil that failed to fired #2 is now firing #4 w/o issue.
What am I missing?
In it's original set up the right hand coil was being triggered to fire 1 & 2. Again no issue with #1.
You may be right...
I swapped the plug, then changed the leads on the coils and swapped the HT lines effectivly operating 1/3 with the orig 2/4 coil and leads. No issues the #2 cylinder still cool.
I popped the tops off the two carbs and nothing looked amiss. I swapped the float needle and seat along with the floats on the #2 and #4, then reinstalled them.
Still not firing #2.
Pulled the carbs again. This time before pouring out the gas I opened #2 float bowl drain and gas poured out...
Turns out the carbs come off an old wing reasonably easy when there is no fairing or underseat gas tank. Popped the floats bowls off and nothing out of place. I expected a rubber diaphram under the top cap but the manual seems to show something else. I'll find out after lunch when they come apart.
Fired the Wing up to change the oil and found it's only running on 3 cylinders. Spark is not the problem. Must have a gummed up carb. Will finally learn how hard(?) it is to get the carbs off.
I have these on the bike. As I like to say "let's keep the dice rolling"

Sorry but that sounds like a rather defeatist attitude. I ride, among others, a '76 Honda SuperSport modded to suit my tastes. I'm not worried about a police stop/check. Most people love the way it looks so the need to keep the orig parts is also a non starter.
