    What rifle should I buy?

The "Sail" store in Oshawa - second floor at the rifle counter, ask for John Hickey. He did some stuff for me when he worked at Gagnon's. Seems to know his stuff. There's a competent gunsmith at Accuracy Plus, if you feel like driving to Peterborough - he recently fixed an extraction issue on a...

Would motorcycle insurance be cheaper if I get an M1 now and not drive?

That has not been my experience. I've been fully licensed to operate a motorcycle, since before there ever was a separate license, issued for this purpose. Didn't matter "squat" to the insurer - they were only concerned with how long I'd had a bike continuously insured.

Would motorcycle insurance be cheaper if I get an M1 now and not drive?

Yes, it will - so long as this scooter is licensed for road use. (whether it's actually driven on the road, or not)

Would motorcycle insurance be cheaper if I get an M1 now and not drive?

Alzwow has it right - You can have a full M for 30 years and the ins. co. will say "That's nice - how long have you had a bike continuously insured?" They're most interested in your insurance history, not your driving history - unless you've had at fault claims or been charged for driving...

    Engine Oil Question?

Your confusion is understandable and you're right - all viscous fluids (of which, oil is only one) thicken when they cool and thin when they heat up. Oil viscosity is measured in "centistokes" and a straight 10W, 20W, 30W, 40W, etc. oil, will measure within a specified range of centistokes for...

    G.day

G'day to you too. 1073 ??? are you sure ? Check your ownership, mate - I know the "Motor Company" has been making bikes for a long time, but I didn't think they started making bikes before the "Crusades". From your pic, that scoot likes pretty nice - doesn't look look it needs anything, but if...

    Engine Oil Question?

Yes - all the clearances are wider in a colder engine, than a hot one - but a more viscous oil is still not going to flow into these "clearances" as readily or as quickly as a less viscous oil. To the best of my knowledge, there is no regular oil (non synthetic) that is a 5W-40. That would...

    Engine Oil Question?

When you're reading the viscosity numbers on the oil - (10W-30, 15W-40, 10W-60, etc.) - - the first number relates to the viscosity of the oil at 0 degrees C and the second number is the viscosity at 100 degrees C. (what is reasonably assumed to be "operating temperature"). A 10W-40 will flow...

    Shooting Machine Guns In Vegas

" Should have climbed to the left, because ejection port is to the right....if my memory serves me right." The "high, to the right" happens with most hand-held machine guns/sub machine guns. The "high" comes from the handle placement on the gun. The recoil pushes the gun back - because your...

Rotella is on sale @ CT again

    The 0W-40 is a Group IV - the 5W-40 is a Group III+ The 5W-40 has the JASO-MA designation - the 0W-40 doesn't. I've used both in my GL1800, with no issues.

Interview Delayed Until Further notice. That cant be good, but what does it mean?

I'm with mikbusa on this one. "delayed until further notice" has a rather dismissive ring to it. If the interviewer can't schedule a timely interview, then he/she should give you some idea of when you might be able to expect one - assuming they are intending to give you one. If they're not, they...

Do we need an official gun thread?

Regardless of how you start a discourse, there's nothing wrong with getting people talking about "safety issues". Even if you don't learn anything ( and often, you do), it's still mildly entertaining, to read all the comments and opinions, just to see where people stand. To those gentlemen that...

Am I the only one who can't afford it?

Sorry, Dude - that's incorrect. I've had my "motorcycle license" since before there was such a thing - and I had insurance back then, too. I was off bikes for a whole bunch of years and when I finally got one again, ten years ago, the insurance company could care less about the 30+ years I've...

    I looked like a dork

Relax - - - Lots of us found it funny - - - it's just bad form, to "validate" someone, with less than 1,000 posts.

How many balls you allow on your ride?

Generally, 8 on our "rides" - although, the aerials are quite often 6. Of course, most people know that F.F.'s are pretty much open to anything and would "do" a rock pile, if they thought there was a snake in it.

New to this site - Never riden before

I doubt that there are any "certified" helmets that would impede or impair your peripheral vision - but there are also none that would compensate for a "compromised" depth of field, which I understand gets screwed up, when you've only got one lamp. I certainly wouldn't want to discourage you...

    Bowmanville Honda

If you mean Clarington Cycle (N/W of Liberty & 401) - I had them do a check-up on a "TSB" I got from Honda, for my 'wing. Seemed like a pretty decent group - the guy who worked on my bike, knew his stuff. In and out quickly, with no issues.
