I think that is a good price for the '81 listed on Kijiji. Not a big fan of the fairings and saddlebags they do turn into a cool naked bike.

Happened to be on Hwy 8 down in Jordan Hollow last summer when Jan went through on the CBX. The sound echoing through the Valley was fantastic. Didn't know he had found another engine. He called in Dec. but my spare is in pieces.

Half teh season over but finally got the '81 engine in the '79 CBX. These lumps weigh 225#.

The '79 and '80 were the "naked" models and they didn't sell so for '81 and '82 Honda added the full fairing and hard luggage. Supposed to be a sport-tourer and they still didn't sell. Without the fairing and bags...mine also has different pipes, wheels, rearserts, lower handlebars, alternator...

Another one from the '80s. My '81 CBX. Sure it is a lump that can't get out of its' own way but it looks cool and sounds cool.

Finally some follow-up on my Jade plant resto. I wanted to make sure it was still alive after the first repot in 50 years. I just brought it in the house and the whole package still weighs 100 pounds after a massive trimming. Still needs some final cuts. Shane, thank you so much for the help.
