I'm liking the Accord idea personally... came across an 06 Black/Black 6sp coupe with 150k for $8000. Seems like a good deal and would be a reasonably fun car to drive for a minimal investment!
rbjeepthing - Really good insight, thanks for your help! I will definitely have to read up more on the known issues if I continue down the WRX path. There is something very appealing about them though... styling aside. A friend of mine has one and has trashed on it for 5 years now and it still...
Yeah the FWD and Autobox takes a bit of the fun to drive factor out of it.
No love for the STI? Interior too cheap?
What about the Jeep SRT-8? Fuel would be disastrous and it looks dated compared to the new Grand Cherokee but the engine is sweet!
^ If they offer you anything close to $34k, i'd take it and run...
Looked at an 09 335xi coupe last week with 90k for $29k retail. No nav but it had the m-sport package and was in beautiful condition.
Toronto parking, gas, insurance... all adds up with two cars. More of a pain if anything, i'd rather stick with a single car!
Rohan27 - Hadn't thought about the v6 TSX. Have you driven one? Same v6 as the TL?
Wow, I had no idea that there was so much torque in the 335d. I'd buy one just to support the sale of diesel cars here in Canada... so many fantastic engines available in Europe aren't sold here!
Great performance from that Evo, but I'm getting a bit old for big wings that obstruct my rear view...
XFactor - Love the BRZ... bit small though since i'm 6'3 for a daily driver. I may go take one for a spin and see how it drives. Saw Clarkson's review on a recent Top Gear, he loved it!
DJBordie - PM sent, thanks!
VRUS - Unsure about the v8 in the b6 S4... fuel economy is terrible and the performance isn't much better than my B5. Plus it's still going to be 6-7 years old. Worries me a bit
DJBordie - Do you have a 335i? I have been reading up on them a fair bit... Wastegate rattles and high-flow fuel pump...
My B5 Audi S4 left me stranded on Sunday for the second time in the last two months. I'm due for a new car and wanted to get your advice on what to consider. Here are my requirements along with a few that are already on the shortlist.
- Looking to spend less than $25k - taxes in
- Want...
The Hotel Tonight app is pretty good. Rooms get posted at around noon each day for that night... significant discounts and $25 in initial credits just for using it.
What are your thoughts on car ads listed through kijiji? Similar expectation on negotiation? I am looking at a car listed at $43.5... fair to assume that $40k flat is within reason or is that too aggressive?
I just started an online quote with TD for curiosity and under prior convictions they differentiate between a speeding ticket below 49 km/h over and those above that speed. Does each insurance policy treat these major/minor categories differently?
Interesting Dresden - and from my perspective, I wouldn't classify myself high risk driver. Late 20's, home/car insurance with TD... no other speeding tickets on my record. If I can attend court myself and get the ticket reduced to 20 km/h over or less without having to pay for representation...
Thanks for the wishes!
I didn't initially realize that it was a major ticket. Had it been a minor one (and could still realistically be reduced to one), then with only one other ticket on my record that will fall off in a year, my insurance rates really wouldn't be affected that negatively...
I didn't realize that it was considered a major ticket... that changes things.
Rob - I trust your judgement. What would you do if you were in my shoes?
Exactly - i'd rather roll the dice for the trial option and hope the officer doesn't show and if he does - try and work a plea bargin to 20 km/h over then. It's not the $300 ticket that bothers me, more then impact on insurance!
