Getting Back On The Ride, After Injury

Hurt my wrist at Calabogie in August 2008. I debated for a couple of weeks of stoping. I eventually realized I wanted to get back on the track and I missed that feeling and rode a month later. My wrist hurt for 6 months after the fact. I hurt the same wrist again this past September again at...

What's your favourite part about riding?

Not to go off topic, but reading this I always thought the opposite. Check my signature. Back to topic, track rules, but exploring was always nice.

What's your favourite part about riding?

The track. Gave up street riding after a couple of track days. Twisties were never the same after that.

    Construction at Mosport

Actually it's the high torque big V8s that churn up the apex. Think Trans-am of the 80s/90s.

    Safety question

It's a baffle you secure to the can's outlet. Pro6 (shameless plug) carries them although I'd just go without.

    Safety question

Extremely debatable. These are all about noise reduction.

    Safety question

Safeties are just that, safety related items. I don't think having an overaly loud exhaust was noted on the the last saftey I had to do. If not, just throw a $40 DB dawg on it to keep it quiet. I too have the SET valve dis-abled and the baffle quieted down the exhaust quite nicely for...

    Question about Track Bikes

I've taken my bike to our back lot at work, but it's semi-secluded and with an understanding boss. Industrial areas on sundays might be a decent alternative. The neighborhood works ok like everyone has said if you keep it sane. I usually pull fairings off and it looks like most other naked bikes...

    Remove Grease - Painted Surfaces

+1 Spray bottle works great. Even pouring this onto an old rag and wiping down fairings from chain fling works well. Makes a great chain cleaner.

    Ticket Cops At The Forks/Badlands

I was there about the same time trying to take the family for ice cream, but we bailed out due to the congestion. I counted 3 OPP cruisers along that stretch.

Buying a brand new 'old stock/model' helmet

Another in favor of buying it. I whacked my head against the track 3 weeks ago and rashed up my Scorpion helmet. I only had 5 trackdays on it. 3 weeks later I haven't had any symptoms of any kind. The build date on it was 2006. It did it's job. Maybe I was lucky? I bought it on close out...

m2 exit course - any recommendations

I can't remember the exact ratio, but when got my M, it was something like 5:1 between courses and going to MTO. Seriously, if your not conciously riding in a safe manner, and can't pass the ministry in 5 attempts, maybe your shouldn't be riding? FTR, passed MTO in the first attempt...

    Clifford Olsen dead from cancer.

Good riddance. Creatures like that should be shredded in a wood chipper.

    shipping a car from Thunderbay

Might not be the cheapest method, but they were good with shipping the car I sold to Kelowna. No complaints from the buyer upon arrival.

    turn2

Brake is the correct term. Please learn the difference, you might become a better rider for it.

    HF Trailer Build Input

Clarification, it will hold the bike, but i would tow with just the chock as a means of attachment. I usally keep my bike on the trailer and chocked in my garage between days unless I'm doing maintenance, even still, the trailer provides for a platform to carry out most work.

    HF Trailer Build Input

I have the same trailer and chock (single though) and use 4 straps regardless. This chock won't hold your bike upright on it own.

Advice for visually impared (or people who want more perphreal vision)

Having only 5% vision in my left eye (similar to trying to see through wax paper), I'm in a simular situation. Was never a major issue on the street, but I shoulder checked often. I know the perhiferal vision in my right eye is better than average just for having lived this way for so long.
