    My summer of stator failures.....sigh

I've been riding on the same battery since I bought the Versys used with 13k now at 70k. I always tender the battery when it sits idle for longer than a week. The regulators have a poor reputation but I've not had any issues running with heated jacket grips and high beams. (Touch wood). I...

Have fun on the Trans Lab. My brother Shaun drove it this year in his van and he was amazed at how many potholes there are. I had no issues back in 2011 but for passing the road graders. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    My summer of stator failures.....sigh

Fun wow. I had an exciter coil go on the KLR, replaced it and put an upgraded rectifier on as well. The rectifier failed and I ended up back on the stock rectifier for years with no troubles. Good luck with the fix.

    From Toronto to PEI Help

psst! (New Brunswick shore) The coastal roads to the North and the one to the south both lead back to the bridge and are so much more fun than following a transport truck hey diddle diddle straight down the middle. :D Look at 955 Murray Corner.

    From Toronto to PEI Help

It's 11km long with an 80 kph speed limit. Nothing too brutal. I've lived here off and on since 2012, and have only taken the wolf island ferry once into Pictou NS. The bridge is always there, almost always open, just a predictable given. Boring? Life before the bridge was even more...

    From Toronto to PEI Help

Don't overplan your time. Rushing for a ferry or a reservation is horrible. I live on Prince Edward Island at the moment, and have made this trip a number of times. Nova Scotia in a day (Advocate Harbour was a highlight)...

    Respo Foggy locally?

While I have yet to try a pin lock visor, I've used many combinations of wax, shaving cream, rainex antifog, and find that the respro foggy PLUS an antifog agent works best. I tend to fog up at stops, but once rolling everything clears. I usually need this setup for days when the high is 4...

    Terrorist attack in Canada

True enough. I remember walking into K-Mart in the states to see pistol packing security guards. I thought of how she might put a bullet in the back of someone running with a toaster out the front door.

    Michelin Pilot Road 4's

Wicked good in straight line acceleration! I was hard on the throttle and no rear spin up at all! I did near overshoot a turn and braked pretty hard with the front, and that was where I got a bit of uncertain feedback, but I had a heavy hand. Cornering was superb. Now if they made the...

    Moto Camping

I hear you on that one. I did a two day two up with a tank bag and a top box and we were riding with rain gear in the top box, so not much room for anything, and she wanted to go dress shopping before we crossed the border! :)

When I was loaded down for the translab with my KLR, the wheelies were awesome! I over packed for that one. Lol.

    Michelin Pilot Road 4's

I had my first serious ride in the wet on my PR4s. Brilliant. Straight line acceleration made me feel like the roads were dry. Hard braking on the front gave me a bit of feedback but no slip. If they last out the 20k I'm hoping for, I'll be a very happy camper.
