    Stone to the rad!

Had the same thing happen back in August. Pin hole from a stone, stranded my long way from home. Took it to my local rad shop (Barton Rad), and they had it fixed within the day for $50. I was back on the road a day after that. Definately invest in a rad guard. Mine is an R&G for $120 :mad...

    coolant check

I found it was just easier to go to my local dealer and buy coolant rather than dicking with finding an appropriate automotive coolant. When I had my rad punctured this summer, I had to go through a radiator repaoir and a full coolant replacement etc before I was up and running again. For...

how long is your commute to work?

160 kms return. Hamilton to Woodstock. 50 mins door to door. Really boring ride on 403, but can be more fun if you take the long way home....

    Ear protection?

Wear them all the time. Filters the wind noise, while still allowing you to hear all the important stuff.

    Great Ride/S**t End

I saw that ebay add. Possibility. I sell aftermarket ag and industrial parts, and we sell a crapload of rads. I was shocked by the costs I was coming across, compared to the sort of radiators I'm used to selling. I'm going to call some of my customers and some local guys and see what kind of...

    Great Ride/S**t End

Stopped just outside Caledonia for a fill up after a great ride and when I came back to the bike from paying I found a huge puddle under the rad. Coolant all over the bottom of the engine and a little back from it so it had leaked for a bit, but judging by the amount on the ground not too long...

Thanks highway department! 403 between Ancaster and Hamilton

++100 It's a nasty stretch of road now with more snake than road. Bike feels interesting at times............. Even feels terrible in the car. Just gives me a reason to get off at #52 and take the long way home starting at 99 HWY. Not a particularly twisty road but fun nonetheless.

    tire bits everywhere

There's been a crapload lately. Twice this week alone traffic came to a standstill on the 403 just west of the Linc due to large pieces of retread blocking the left lane. Not a truck in sight........... Not really sure why their use is still legal.

    Nut sizes and sockets etc

I've got a new Kawi ER6n and I'm trying to get some tools together for oil changes/chain adjusting etc. I've read some of the posts on torque wrenches but still have some questions. Anyone out there have a 650 Ninja or ER6n and can tell me the tools their using? Seems like the axle nuts are...

    Newbie in Hamilton

So I've succumbed to the midlife crisis thing (so says the wife). Bought a bike in December and have been riding it since early April. Lurking on this forum for the same amount of time. Learned a lot and laughed a lot. Will be posting some newbie tech questions in the near future. Hope to...
